アメリカサッカー連盟(USSF)は20日、コパ・アメリカ2024に臨むアメリカ代表候補メンバー27名を発表した。
3大会ぶり5度目の出場となるアメリカを率いるグレッグ・バーホルター監督は、FWクリスチャン・プリシックやFWティモシー・ウェア、MFジョバンニ・レイナ、MFウェストン・マッケニー、DFキャメロン・カーター=ヴィッカーズ、GKマット・ターナーらを順当に選出。
一方、DFセルジーニョ・デストやFWジョーダン・モリス、MFルカ・デ・ラ・トーレらが招集外となった。

ホッフェンハイムのペッレグリノ・マタラッツォ監督(46)が、母国アメリカ代表の新指揮官候補に浮上している。ドイツ『ビルト』が報じている。 2年後にカナダ、メキシコと共同で開催する北中米ワールドカップを控えるアメリカだが、先日のコパ・アメリカ2024では自国開催ながらグループステージ敗退。アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)はこの結果を受け、2018年から指揮を執るグレッグ・バーホルター監督(50)を解任した。 その後、USSFはリバプールを退任したユルゲン・クロップ氏、カナダ代表のジェシー・マーシュ監督ら数人の候補への接触を図ったが、いずれも色よい返事は受け取れず。後任人事は難航している。 そんななか、新たな有力候補に挙がっているのが、ブンデスリーガで経験を積むアメリカ人指揮官のマタラッツォ監督だ。 2010年から2017年にかけてホッフェンハイムの下部組織で監督を務めた同監督は、2018年以降ユリアン・ナーゲルスマン監督やアルフレッド・シュロイダー監督のアシスタントコーチを務め、2019年12月に当時2.ブンデスリーガ(ドイツ2部)に属していたシュツットガルトの監督に就任。 就任当時3位に位置していたチームを2位で1部リーグに押し上げ、翌シーズンはブンデスで9位フィニッシュ。その後、成績不振を理由に2022年10月い解任の憂き目を味わったが、2023年2月から古巣ホッフェンハイムの指揮官を務めている。 報道によると、USSFからすでにオファーを受け取っているマタラッツォ監督は就任に前向きな姿勢を示しているという。 また、ここ最近クラブ内でごたごたが続くホッフェンハイムでは指揮官引き抜きに備え、リーベル・プレートを解任されたマルティン・デミチェリス氏、カールスルーエのクリスティアン・アイヒナー監督らを後任としてリストアップしているようだ。 2024.08.04 19:40 Sun

セルジーニョ・デストが愚行退場でアメリカは格下に逆転負け…バーホルター監督「許しがたいこと」

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

「ペプシの宣伝か?」アメリカが新ユニフォームを発表も、アウェイのカラーには既視感を覚える人も「アイスキャンディーみたいなユニフォーム」
