データおよびテクノロジーにおけるリーディングカンパニーの「ニールセン・グレースノート」が、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する選手のインフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。
「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。
トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。
1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。
2シーズン連続でUEFA年間最優秀女子選手、バロンドールを受賞。2021年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞を受賞している。
2022年にはスペイン女子初となる代表100キャップに到達。その後、前十字じん帯を損傷し女子ユーロは欠場していた。
3位は、サンディエゴ・ウェーブスに所属するアメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガン。フォロワーは1000万人だが、増加率やエンゲージメント率が低く、価値は3位となった。
言わずと知れたアメリカのエースで、過去2度のW杯優勝を経験。2012年のロンドン・オリンピックでは金メダルを獲得している。アメリカ女子代表として200キャップ以上を記録し、120ゴール以上を決めている。

プレーヤーとしての注目はもちろんのこと、インフルエンサーとしても注目を集める選手が多い女子W杯。残念ながらなでしこジャパンの選手はトップ10に入らなかったが、注目したいところだ。

ナイキは3日、今夏オーストラリアとニュージーランドで開催される女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に向けたユニフォームを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する今年の女子W杯。9都市10のスタジアムで開催される。
ナイキは本大会に出場する国のユニフォームを発表。パワフルな女子サッカー選手の独自のニーズに合わせて調整され、女性特有の動きに対応した新しいフィットと素材のイノベーションを採用しているという。
出場32カ国中13カ国のユニフォームサプライヤーであるナイキだが、今回は特に女子選手の意見をもとにデザインや開発を行ったという。
その中で、大きな変化の1つはイングランド女子代表。これまでは上下白がベースとなっていたが、W杯では青のパンツを履くことになるという。
その理由は、女子選手が訴える生理の問題の懸念だ。イングランドのクラブでもマンチェスター・シティやWBA、スウォンジー・シティの女子チームの選手が、生理中に白いパンツを履くことを懸念していたとのこと。その結果、クラブとサプライヤーが対応して白以外のパンツに変更していた。

アメリカサッカー連盟(USSF)と ナイキは18日、アメリカ代表の新ユニフォームを発表した。
6月から7月にかけて行われるコパ・アメリカ2024の開催国であるアメリカ。サッカー機運が高まっている中での新ユニフォーム発表となった。
その新ユニフォームは、A代表だけでなくユースやシニアでも共通のデザインに。全部で27チームがこのユニフォームに袖を通すこととなるが、それは史上初のことだという。
新ユニフォームでは、デザインで統一感を表現。ホームとアウェイ用のユニフォームどちらにも「One Nation」、「One Team」のテキストと1つの星が描かれている。
そのホームユニフォームは、時代を超越したクラシックなデザインを再考。白をベースとしながら、袖口は赤と白の組み合わせ、襟は青、赤、白の3色の組み合わせとなっている。
一方のアウェイユニフォームは、星条旗の色をそのまま採用。青がベースとなっているが、シャツの下部は白と赤のグラデーションになっている。これは、肩から反対側の腰へ斜めにかけて着用されるサッシュと、人気がある2014年のアウェイユニフォームのデザインの要素を取れ入れたということだ。
ファンからは、このユニフォームについて「今のよりはマシだ!」、「だいぶ良くなっている」などとコメント。評価が低い現在のユニフォームより良くなったという意見が多い。
一方で、アウェイユニフォームについては、「BOMB POPS(ボムポップ/アメリカのアイス)ユニフォームだ」、「ペプシコーラを思い出させる」、「ペプシの宣伝か?」など、青、白、赤というカラーリングが被るものを思い起こす人が多いようだ。
このユニフォームは、3月に行われるCONCACAFネーションズリーグで男子チームが初めて着用。女子チームは4月に開催されるシービリーブスカップで着用する予定だ。

アメリカ女子代表の超新星、16歳のMFリリー・ヨハネスへの期待が高まっている。
オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)で失意のベスト16止まりに終わったアメリカだが、2024CONCACAF W ゴールドカップで優勝。今回のShebelieves Cupでも、ホスト国としてはもちろんのこと、復権へ向けて意気軒昂に臨み、6日の準決勝ではなでしこジャパンと対戦する。
メンバーには初招集が2人。21歳のDFエヴァ・ガエティーノ(パリ・サンジェルマン/フランス)と、ヨハネス(アヤックス/オランダ)だ。
ヨハネスについては『olympics.com』もピックアップ。「歴史を作るティーンエイジャー」と評している。
アメリカで生まれ、幼少期にオランダへ移住したヨハネスはアヤックスのアカデミーへ加入。「アメリカでは、ほとんど女子としかプレーしなかったのですが、オランダに移ったときには男子チームに加わりました。それが大きな違いでしたが、すぐに適応できました」と、イギリス『ガーディアン』のインタビューで応えている。
存在感は早くから際立ち、15歳でトップチームの練習に参加。数カ月後には、アヤックスでプロ契約を結んだクラブ史上最年少の選手となった。
ゲームを組み立てる力と前への推進力を併せ持ち、守備でも堅牢さ見せるインテリオールは、アヤックスの主軸として女子チャンピオンズリーグ(UWCL)でも出場を重ねている。
6年以上オランダに在住していることから、望めば国籍変更等の手続きを経てオランダ女子代表入りも可能とのことだが、ヨハネスは世界女王の奪還を図るアメリカ女子代表の声に応じた。
16歳での代表招集は、2017年のソフィア・スミス(現:ポートランド・ソーンズFC)以来最年少。果たして今大会で出番は与えられるだろうか。

アメリカ女子代表FWマロリー・スワンソン(旧姓ピュー:24)がワールドカップを断念せざるを得なくなった。
これまで歴代最多4回、2015年、2019年と連覇もしている絶対女王アメリカはアレックス・モーガンらが現在も最前線で活躍をするなどしているが、2021年の東京オリンピックでは3位にとどまるなど、世代交代の難しさにも直面している。
7月に開幕を迎えるオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)へ向けて各国が準備を進める中、アメリカは8日にアイルランド女子代表との国際親善試合を行った。
この試合ではエミリー フォックスが代表初ゴールを決め、ジュリー・アーツが出産後611日にぶりに代表復帰するという明るいニュースも飛び込んできた。一方、2月のSheBelieves Cupのなでしこジャパン戦でもゴールを決め、代表6試合連続得点中だったスワンソンの長期離脱というネガティブな話題も上ることとなった。
前半終了間際、スワンソンはハードタックルを受けて左ヒザを負傷。ストレッチャーでピッチを後にすることとなった。診断の結果は左ヒザ膝蓋腱断裂で、全治は明らかにされていないものの、W杯は絶望的となった。
ただ、スワンソンは担架に固定されながらも、気丈にも会場の声援に応えて拍手。観衆はそんなスワンソンに敬意を表し、スタンディングオベーションで彼女の退場を見送った。閲覧者からも「胸が張り裂けそう」「迅速な回復を願って」「莫大な損失」「私たちの愛とポジティブなエネルギーをマルに送ります!」と、愛のある言葉が多数届けられている。
アメリカの選手に限らず、先月にはカナダ女子代表のジャニン・ベッキーが右ヒザ前十字じん帯断裂の重傷を負い、W杯欠場が決定的に。近年は女子選手の大ケガが増加しているだけに、本大会へ向けてのコンディション調整も注視する必要があるだろう。
