アメリカ代表のグレッグ・バーホルター監督が、日本代表戦を振り返った。『ESPN』が伝えた。23日、キリンチャレンジカップ2022で日本はアメリカと対戦。ともにカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する国同士の対戦となった。
アメリカはキャプテンでエースのクリスチャン・プリシッチ(チェルシー)が負傷のためにメンバー外。スターティングメンバーの平均年齢は24歳143日ということで、非常に若いメンバー構成となった。
立ち上がりは勢いを持って日本陣内に攻めていったアメリカだったが、強度の高い中盤のプレスと、攻撃面での精度の低さから徐々に日本のペースに。すると鎌田大地がネットを揺らして先制を許す。
後半メンバーを変えて徐々にペースを取り戻しにいき、何度かゴールに迫るも奪えず。終盤に三笘薫にネットを揺らされ、2-0で敗れることとなった。

「10番の似合う男になれるように成長します」、仙台がMF鎌田大夢との契約を更新

鎌田大地ら中盤の選手退団のラツィオ、ナイジェリア代表期待の若手MFデレ=バシルを買取義務のレンタル移籍で獲得
