カナダサッカー協会(CSA)は28日、国際親善試合の2試合に臨むカナダ代表メンバー26名+トレーニングメンバー1名を発表した。
ジェシー・マーシュ監督が新たに就任したカナダ代表。2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)は自国開催となり、強化を進めていくこととなる。
コパ・アメリカに向けてのメンバーは6月15日が期限。今回招集された26名がそのまま登録される可能性が高い。
今回のメンバーにはDFアルフォンソ・デイビス(バイエルン)、DFアリスター・ジョンストン(セルティック)、FWジョナサン・デイビッド(リール)、FWサイル・ラリン(マジョルカ)などを招集している。
カナダは、6月6日にオランダ代表とロッテルダムで、同9日にフランス代表とボルドーで対戦する。

カナダ代表のジェシー・マーシュ監督は、アメリカ代表指揮官への就任の可能性を完全否定した。『ESPN』が伝えている。 2年後にカナダ、メキシコと共同で開催する北中米ワールドカップを控えるアメリカだが、先月から開催されたコパ・アメリカ2024では母国開催ながらグループステージ敗退。アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)はこの結果を受け、2018年から指揮を執るグレッグ・バーホルター監督(50)を解任した。 後任を探すUSSFはリバプールを退任したユルゲン・クロップ氏の招へいに動くも、休養を望む同氏は拒否。USSFはなおもクロップ氏の招へいの可能性を粘り強く探りつつ、別の選択肢についても模索している。 そんな中で、候補の一人になっているのがマーシュ監督だ。これまでレッドブル・ザルツブルクやRBライプツィヒ、リーズ・ユナイテッドなどで指揮を執ってきた指揮官は、2024年5月にカナダの監督に就任。前述したコパ・アメリカではチームを準決勝まで導き、13日にウルグアイ代表との3位決定戦を控えている。 アメリカ人として母国を率いることが期待される中だが、マーシュ監督にその意向はまったくないようだ。ウルグアイ戦の前日記者会見に出席した指揮官はUSSFへの不信感を口にしており、今後も指揮を執るつもりはないと断言している。 「私は今の職を辞めるつもりはない。そして、アメリカ代表の仕事に興味もない。そして組織に大きな変化がない限り、私は将来的にもアメリカ代表の仕事に興味は持たないだろう」 「私は今、ここで本当に幸せだ。この組織のリーダーたちと共に働くこと、そしてこのチームと働くことについて、これ以上の幸せはないと思う」 「アメリカサッカーへのリスペクトは大きいが、私は以前に彼らとの交渉を経験した。そして、あまり詳しく話すつもりはないが、そこで私はあまり良い扱いを受けなかった」 「だから、もうそれは過去のことさ。交渉が終わった瞬間、私は『よし、前進するぞ。そして自分にとって何が正しいのかを見つけ出すんだ』と決めたんだ」 2024.07.13 14:40 Sat

リーズが大型SBラスムス・クリステンセン獲得! アーロンソン続くマーシュ教え子が加入

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

森保一監督が自身2度目、縁ある新潟での一戦に想い「新潟での経験が今の自分に繋がっている」
12日、日本代表は翌13日に行われるMIZUHO BLUE DREAM MATCH 2023のカナダ代表戦の会場であるデンカビッグスワンスタジアムで前日トレーニングを行った。 トレーニングに先立ち、森保一監督が試合に向けた記者会見に出席。自身も縁のある新潟での一戦への思いを語った。 森保監督は、現役時代はサンフレッチェ広島、京都パープルサンガ(現:京都サンガF.C.)、ベガルタ仙台でプレー。引退後指導者となったが、広島の育成コーチやU-19、U-20日本代表のコーチ、広島のトップチームのコーチを経て、2010年、2011年はアルビレックス新潟でヘッドコーチを務めていた。 そこでの成長があり、2012年にミハイロ・ペトロヴィッチ監督の後任として広島で監督業をスタート。すると、初年度でJ1優勝を広島にもたらせると、連覇を達成。3年目は8位に終わったが、4年目も優勝と大きな結果をもたらした。 その後東京オリンピックに向けた代表チームの監督に就任。兼務して日本代表でコーチとなると、ロシア・ワールドカップ後に日本代表監督に就任。カタールW杯でべスト16の結果を残すと、史上初となる2期目の指揮を執っている。 指導者としても身を置いた新潟で、監督として5年ぶり自身2度目の代表戦を迎える森保監督は、改めて新潟への思いを口にした。 「まずは新潟の皆さんに、スタジアムに足を運んでくださる皆さん、そしてテレビやメディアの皆さんを通して応援してくださる新潟市民・県民の皆さんに喜んでいただけるように、勝利をお届けられるようにということを第一に考えたいと思いま」 「戦う内容としてはチーム一丸となって最後まで走り抜くというところ。日常の活力にしてもらえるように、励ましのメッセージを送れるように戦いを挑みたいと思います」 「私自身も2010年と2011年にアルビレックス新潟でコーチとしてお世話になって、こうやってまた新潟で試合できるのを非常に嬉しく思いますし、こういう機会をいただいて、新潟でも経験を積ませていただいたことが今の自分に繋がっているところがありますので、関わっていただいた方々に感謝申し上げたいと思います」 「そして、日本代表として戦って勝利をお届けする。そして内容的にもハードワークをして、サッカーの魅力を伝えられるように頑張りたいと思いますし、我々が戦うことがまたアルビレックス新潟の応援にも、より大きな波が来るように繋がれば良いなと思っています」 「我々は普及や育成から、そしてJクラブや1つ1つのクラブから代表活動に繋げていただいています。日本代表の活動がJリーグや普及や育成、地域に還元し、お返しできるようにと思っていますので、明日は我々の頑張りを喜んでいただき、またアルビレックス新潟の応援に繋がっていけばなと思っています」 2023.10.13 07:30 Fri

カナダ代表は新ユニフォームを手にできず…選手がゴールパフォーマンスでナイキに抗議!
