データおよびテクノロジーにおけるリーディングカンパニーの「ニールセン・グレースノート」が、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する選手のインフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。
「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。
トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。
1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。
2シーズン連続でUEFA年間最優秀女子選手、バロンドールを受賞。2021年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞を受賞している。
2022年にはスペイン女子初となる代表100キャップに到達。その後、前十字じん帯を損傷し女子ユーロは欠場していた。

日本代表の森保一監督が巷で話題を呼んだレアル・ソシエダMF久保建英とのやり取りに触れた。
13日に新潟で行われたカナダ代表戦を4-1と快勝した日本代表。国際Aマッチ5連勝に5試合連続の4得点以上をマークした攻撃の好調ぶりがフォーカスされた試合だが、ハーフタイムにベンチ前で森保監督と久保が話し込む姿が映され、密かに注目を集めた。
内容が気になるところだが、カメラを意識し、口元を隠してのやり取りとあって、何を話しているのかわからず。指揮官は17日に行われるチュニジア代表戦に先立った会見でその件を問われると、「詳しくは話せないが」と前置きしつつ、一部を明かした。
「久保は今、所属しているレアル・ソシエダでビルドアップの部分でどういうことをやっているかというのを少し聞いた。結果的にそういう話だったが、選手同士で話をしていて、『何を話していたの?』と。(話していた相手?) マイク。毎熊(晟矢)ですね」

バイエルンのカナダ代表DFアルフォンソ・デイビスが一回り大きくなって戻ってきた。
ゴールドカップに参戦するため、カナダ代表に招集されていたA・デイビスだが、合流中の練習で左足首のじん帯を損傷したと7月半ばに報じられていた。
先日には自身のインスタグラムでガールフレンドのFWジョーディン・ハイテマを擁するカナダ女子代表を応援する場面を掲載したA・デイビス。自国チームのオリンピック初の決勝進出は、彼にも刺激になっているようだ。
そのA・デイビスが4日、ケガから復帰し練習場に姿を現した。その体はこれまで以上にパワーアップしており、特に両腕の筋肉やもも周りが以前にも増して逞しくなった印象だ。別段力を込めているわけでもなく、リラックスした状態でも両腕には血管がくっきりと浮かび上がっている。
文字通り『一回り大きくなった』A・デイビスにファンは驚愕の様子。「アメフトの選手みたい」「NBAなら薬物検査もの」「トレーニング施設を検討すべき」「スーパーソルジャーの血清を処方した!」などのコメントが寄せられた。
バイエルンは現在、A・デイビスとポジションを争うフランス代表DFリュカ・エルナンデスが負傷離脱中。だが、パワーアップしたA・デイビスが間に合うならば、ユリアン・ナーゲルスマン新監督にとっては朗報だ。
なお、バイエルンは13日にブンデスリーガの開幕戦でボルシアMGと対戦する。

ナイキは3日、今夏オーストラリアとニュージーランドで開催される女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に向けたユニフォームを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する今年の女子W杯。9都市10のスタジアムで開催される。
ナイキは本大会に出場する国のユニフォームを発表。パワフルな女子サッカー選手の独自のニーズに合わせて調整され、女性特有の動きに対応した新しいフィットと素材のイノベーションを採用しているという。
出場32カ国中13カ国のユニフォームサプライヤーであるナイキだが、今回は特に女子選手の意見をもとにデザインや開発を行ったという。
その中で、大きな変化の1つはイングランド女子代表。これまでは上下白がベースとなっていたが、W杯では青のパンツを履くことになるという。
その理由は、女子選手が訴える生理の問題の懸念だ。イングランドのクラブでもマンチェスター・シティやWBA、スウォンジー・シティの女子チームの選手が、生理中に白いパンツを履くことを懸念していたとのこと。その結果、クラブとサプライヤーが対応して白以外のパンツに変更していた。
ナイキは女子選手のそうした意見を受けて、イングランドのパンツを白から青に変更。13カ国のホームとアウェイユニフォーム26着のうち、白のパンツはブラジル女子代表のアウェイのみという状況になった。
ナイキの対応には選手たちも感謝を示しているとのこと。また、ナイキの最新のスポーツブラも提供され、より快適にプレーできるようになるようだ。

12日、日本代表は翌13日に行われるMIZUHO BLUE DREAM MATCH 2023のカナダ代表戦の会場であるデンカビッグスワンスタジアムで前日トレーニングを行った。
トレーニングに先立ち、森保一監督が試合に向けた記者会見に出席。自身も縁のある新潟での一戦への思いを語った。
森保監督は、現役時代はサンフレッチェ広島、京都パープルサンガ(現:京都サンガF.C.)、ベガルタ仙台でプレー。引退後指導者となったが、広島の育成コーチやU-19、U-20日本代表のコーチ、広島のトップチームのコーチを経て、2010年、2011年はアルビレックス新潟でヘッドコーチを務めていた。
そこでの成長があり、2012年にミハイロ・ペトロヴィッチ監督の後任として広島で監督業をスタート。すると、初年度でJ1優勝を広島にもたらせると、連覇を達成。3年目は8位に終わったが、4年目も優勝と大きな結果をもたらした。
その後東京オリンピックに向けた代表チームの監督に就任。兼務して日本代表でコーチとなると、ロシア・ワールドカップ後に日本代表監督に就任。カタールW杯でべスト16の結果を残すと、史上初となる2期目の指揮を執っている。
指導者としても身を置いた新潟で、監督として5年ぶり自身2度目の代表戦を迎える森保監督は、改めて新潟への思いを口にした。
「まずは新潟の皆さんに、スタジアムに足を運んでくださる皆さん、そしてテレビやメディアの皆さんを通して応援してくださる新潟市民・県民の皆さんに喜んでいただけるように、勝利をお届けられるようにということを第一に考えたいと思いま」
「戦う内容としてはチーム一丸となって最後まで走り抜くというところ。日常の活力にしてもらえるように、励ましのメッセージを送れるように戦いを挑みたいと思います」
「私自身も2010年と2011年にアルビレックス新潟でコーチとしてお世話になって、こうやってまた新潟で試合できるのを非常に嬉しく思いますし、こういう機会をいただいて、新潟でも経験を積ませていただいたことが今の自分に繋がっているところがありますので、関わっていただいた方々に感謝申し上げたいと思います」
「そして、日本代表として戦って勝利をお届けする。そして内容的にもハードワークをして、サッカーの魅力を伝えられるように頑張りたいと思いますし、我々が戦うことがまたアルビレックス新潟の応援にも、より大きな波が来るように繋がれば良いなと思っています」
