今夜開幕を迎えるUEFAネーションズリーグ。2018年から2019年にかけて行われた前回とはフォーマットが変更され、各グループ4カ国の総当たり戦となる。最上位にあたるAリーグでは、いきなりドイツとスペインが激突する。両者が直近の公式戦で相まみえたのは、2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップ(W杯)準決勝。その前がユーロ2008の決勝だ。
どちらの試合もスペイン代表が1-0で勝利をおさめているが、中でも印象的だったのはユーロ2008の決勝だろう。
2006年の自国開催のワールドカップで結果を残せなかったドイツは、ユルゲン・クリンスマン監督の後を継いだヨアヒム・レーブ監督が率いて臨んだ大会。スペインはルイス・アラゴネス監督が率い、久々にタイトルを獲得できるチームとして臨んだ。
当時のドイツ代表は、MFミヒャエル・バラックやFWミロスラフ・クローゼ、MFバスティアン・シュバインシュタイガーらが名を連ね、ヴィッセル神戸でプレーしたFWルーカス・ポドルスキもプレー。決勝でもスタメンに名を連ねていた。
この後黄金期を迎える両代表だが、この試合で決勝ゴールを挙げたのはサガン鳥栖にも所属したFWフェルナンド・トーレスだった。

中国で拘束されていた韓国代表MFが10カ月ぶりに釈放、昨年5月に八百長や贈賄容疑で捜査対象に
中国当局に身柄を拘束されていた韓国代表MFソン・ジュンホが10カ月ぶりに釈放されることとなった。 大韓サッカー協会(KFA)は25日、ソン・ジュンホに関して「中国当局に拘禁中だったソン・ジュンホが解放され、今日(25日)午後、仁川空港を通じて帰国したことが確認された」と発表していた。 ソン・ジュンホは、2023年5月に中国の上海虹橋国際空港から韓国へと帰国しようとした際に連行。拘留され、数日間にわたって捜査を受けていた。 これは所属していた山東泰山のハオ・ウェイ監督が八百長に関与した疑惑が持たれ、それに関連した捜査とともに、ソン・ジュンホ自身には山東泰山移籍の際に金品を受け取っていた可能性があり、贈賄容疑がかけられていた。 遼寧省の公安局は拘留期限が過ぎそうになると、逮捕し捜査を継続。2023年6月には、ユルゲン・クリンスマン前監督の下で韓国代表にも選出されたが、不参加となっていた。 およそ10カ月にわたって身柄を拘束されていた中、ついに釈放し韓国へと帰国。なお、中国側はソン・ジュンホ自身が有罪だったかどうかについては明かしていないとのことだ。 2024.03.26 11:02 Tue

カナダ代表が新監督にジェシー・マーシュ氏を招へい、韓国も狙っていた指揮官
カナダサッカー協会(CSA)は13日、アメリカ人指揮官のジェシー・マーシュ氏(50)が同国代表の新監督に就任したことを発表した。契約期間は2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)終了までとなる。 カナダ代表では2018年1月から指揮を執ってきたジョン・ハードマン監督が、2023年8月にトロントFCへ引き抜かれる形で退任。その後はアシスタントコーチのマウロ・ビエロ氏が暫定監督を務めている状態が続いていた。 新監督に就任したマーシュ氏は、2009年に現役生活を引退すると指導者の道に進み、引退直後にアメリカ代表のボブ・ブラッドリー監督の下でアシスタントコーチに就任。 その後、メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のモントリオール・インパクト(現CFモントリオール)やニューヨーク・レッドブルズ、レッドブル・ザルツブルク、RBライプツィヒなどで監督を歴任した。 2022年2月からリーズ・ユナイテッドの指揮官に就任すると就任初年度は低迷していたチームをプレミアリーグ残留に成功させたが、積極補強して臨んだ翌シーズンは第20節終了時点で4勝6分け10敗の17位と低迷。成績不振を理由に昨年2月にリーズの監督を解任されていた。 ユルゲン・クリンスマン監督が退任してから監督が不在だった韓国代表の指揮官候補点されていたが、交渉が難航していると報じられていた。 2024.05.14 08:15 Tue

モロッコの国家的プロジェクト…ブラヒム&16歳ヤマルに政府高官が接触、自国にルーツの海外出身選手でA代表強化へ
