バルセロナのMFイルカイ・ギュンドアンが、ドイツ代表の新キャプテンに就任することが決定した。
ドイツ代表では2016年にMFバスティアン・シュバインシュタイガーが代表引退した後、GKマヌエル・ノイアーが長らくキャプテンを務めてきた。
ただ、ノイアーはカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)で敗退した後のスキー旅行中に足を骨折し、長期離脱が続いている。
その離脱に加え、絶対的守護神も37歳というキャリア晩年に差し掛かっているという事情を考慮し、リーダーの世代交代を求めるハンジ・フリック監督は、ギュンドアンの新キャプテン任命を決断した。
フリック監督は9日に行われる日本代表との国際親善試合に向けた前日会見の場で、「(ギュンドアンの新キャプテン就任)それは新しいエネルギーを与えてくれるので、それを我々は利用できる」と、新キャプテンへの期待を語った。
2011年10月に行われたベルギー代表戦で代表デビューを飾ったギュンドアは、これまで通算67試合に出場。2度のW杯とユーロ2020で大舞台を経験している。また、前所属先のマンチェスター・シティでは昨シーズンから1年間キャプテンを務めていた。

W杯で日本と対戦するドイツ代表の呼称「ディー・マンシャフト」が廃止に…7月末に結論
カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、日本代表とも対戦するドイツ代表だが、その“愛称”について議論がなされている。 2014年のブラジルW杯では優勝を果たしているドイツ代表。チームの愛称として「Die Mannschaft(ディー・マンシャフト)」が採用されている。 これはW杯制覇後の2015年にドイツ代表のマネージャーを務めるオリバー・ビアホフ氏が呼称として導入したもの。意味は「これがチームだ」というものだが、廃止の方向で話が進んでいる。 ドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)のベルント・ノイエンドルフ会長は、この呼称について終わる可能性があることを20日にコメント。7月末に結論を出すという。 「終わりが来る。7月末に責任機関の会合が開かれ、決定が確実に下される。終わりのない話には興味がない」 「今回の定性調査では、我々のイメージを固め、意見をまとめることができるはずだ。ただ、調査に依存することはない」 この言葉の生みの親とも言われるビアホフ氏は「我慢すれば良い」と会長の決定を受け入れることを示唆。日本と対戦するときにはもう使われない愛称となっていそうだ。 2022.06.21 14:30 Tue

「全くもってプロではなかった」浅野拓磨を見下した?リュディガーのステップをドイツ代表のレジェンドも問題視「相手を軽んじてはいけない」
