今夜開幕を迎えるUEFAネーションズリーグ。2018年から2019年にかけて行われた前回とはフォーマットが変更され、各グループ4カ国の総当たり戦となる。最上位にあたるAリーグでは、いきなりドイツとスペインが激突する。両者が直近の公式戦で相まみえたのは、2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップ(W杯)準決勝。その前がユーロ2008の決勝だ。

◆トーレスの決勝ゴールをマルチアングルで

どちらの試合もスペイン代表が1-0で勝利をおさめているが、中でも印象的だったのはユーロ2008の決勝だろう。
2006年の自国開催のワールドカップで結果を残せなかったドイツは、ユルゲン・クリンスマン監督の後を継いだヨアヒム・レーブ監督が率いて臨んだ大会。スペインはルイス・アラゴネス監督が率い、久々にタイトルを獲得できるチームとして臨んだ。

当時のドイツ代表は、MFミヒャエル・バラックやFWミロスラフ・クローゼ、MFバスティアン・シュバインシュタイガーらが名を連ね、ヴィッセル神戸でプレーしたFWルーカス・ポドルスキもプレー。決勝でもスタメンに名を連ねていた。
一方のスペイン代表は、GKイケル・カシージャスやDFカルレス・プジョール、MFチャビ・エルナンデス、MFダビド・シルバなどがプレー。ヴィッセル神戸のMFアンドレス・イニエスタ、元サガン鳥栖のFWフェルナンド・トーレスも決勝のピッチに立っていた。

この後黄金期を迎える両代表だが、この試合で決勝ゴールを挙げたのはサガン鳥栖にも所属したFWフェルナンド・トーレスだった。

チャビ・エルナンデス、アンドレス・イニエスタ、ダビド・シルバ、セスク・ファブレガスという4人のゲームメイカーの前に1トップで先発出場したトーレスは32分、チャビのスルーパスに反応すると、相手DFフィリップ・ラームの大外を回りながらも持ち前のスピードで追いつき、飛び出してきたGKイェンス・レーマンの目の前でボールに触り、無人のゴールへと押し込んだ。

ドイツ代表に勝利したスペイン代表は、44年ぶり2回目のユーロ優勝を果たすと、2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップ、2012年のユーロも制覇し、史上初となる主要国際大会3連覇を達成。“無敵艦隊”とは名ばかりだったスペイン代表の黄金期のスタートとなった大会だった。

ちなみに、当時のメンバーで今回も代表に招集されているのはレアル・マドリーのスペイン代表DFセルヒオ・ラモス(34)のみ。ドイツ代表は、レーブ監督以外全員が入れ替わっている。

10年ぶりの対戦となるドイツ代表とスペイン代表の一戦は、日本時間3日の27時45分キックオフだ。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

悲しい再会を果たしたセスク、アーセナル時代の同僚・フレブに完全無視される

▽14日に行われたユーロ2016予選のベラルーシ代表vsスペイン代表で、チェルシーのスペイン代表MFセスク・ファブレガスが旧友との再会を果たした。ただし、その再会はとても苦々しいものだったようだ。イギリス『メトロ』が動画付きでセスクの悲しい姿を伝えている。 ▽セスクは、この試合でアーセナル時代の同僚だったゲンチレルビルリイ(トルコ)のベラルーシ代表MFアレクサンドル・フレブと再会した。しかし、セスクが入場口で旧友とスキンシップを図ろうとした際、フレブはこれを完全無視。セスクは2011年8月にアーセナルからバルセロナに移籍した後、昨夏にチェルシーへ移籍した。アーセナルと同じ街に拠点を置くライバルクラブへ移籍するという“裏切り行為”が、フレブの逆鱗に触れた模様だ。 ▽フレブはその直前にバルセロナ時代のチームメイトだったスペイン代表DFジェラール・ピケとハイタッチをかわしており、さらに、セスクを無視した後も同クラブ時代に一緒にプレーしたスペイン代表MFセルヒオ・ブスケッツと笑顔で話していた。相手にされなかったセスクはフレブのほうを見ていなかったものの、映像に映し出された顔は悲哀に満ちていた。 ▽アーセナルで共に魅惑の中盤を築いた旧友に無視されたにもかかわらず、セスクはスペイン代表MFダビド・シルバが挙げた決勝弾をアシストして勝利に貢献した。ショックな出来事に見舞われた直後に結果を残すところは、やはり一流のプロフットボーラーたる所以といったところか…。 2015.06.15 18:29 Mon
