14日、女子FAカップ準決勝の2試合が行われ、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドとトッテナムが決勝進出を決めた。なでしこジャパンのMF宮澤ひなたを擁するユナイテッドと、同FW浜野まいかが所属するチェルシーによる昨季決勝の再現は、ユナイテッドが逃げ切り勝ちを収めた。宮澤と浜野はともにベンチ入りするも、出場はなかった。

ユナイテッドはキックオフ直後の1分にルシア・ガルシアが試合を動かす。裏へのロングボールへ背走しながら対応したチェルシーDFエーヴ・ペリセが処理を誤り、これを拾ったリア・ガルトンが左サイドからクロス。スペイン女子代表FWが頭で合わせた。
最高のスタートを切ったユナイテッドはすぐさまチェルシーの反撃を受けるが、これをしのいで追加点を奪取。23分、相手の圧を受けながらもエラ・トゥーンが左サイドで粘って折り返すと、レイチェル・ウィリアムズがヘディング弾を叩き込み、リードを広げる。

以降は追い掛けるチェルシーの猛攻が続き、度々のシュートシーンを迎えるが、フィニッシュが枠に飛ばない。それでもようやくの前半のアディショナルタイム4分、左ポケットを取ったニアム・チャールズのカットバックをローレン・ジェームズが蹴り込んで1点を返す。
後半もチェルシーが怒涛の攻撃を仕掛けるが、51分のジェームズのヘディングはGKメアリー・アープスがミラクルセーブで阻止し、
58分にはヨハンナ・カネリドのシュートをボックス内でブロックしたケイティ・ゼレムの開いた腕に当たったように見えたが、ホイッスルはなし。

カタリナ・マカリオの直接CKはクロスバーにも助けられ、ユナイテッドは計26本のシュートを浴びながらも、最少失点にとどめて粘り勝ち。初優勝へ向け、2季連続の決勝進出を果たした。

一方のチェルシーは4連覇の夢が潰え、女子コンチネンタルカップに続いてタイトルを逃すこととなった。

準決勝のもう1試合は、共にクラブ史上初のベスト4入りを果たしたレスター・シティとトッテナムが対戦。レスターの宝田沙織と籾木結花は揃って先発し、宝田は延長98分、籾木は90分までプレーしたが、チームは延長戦の末に敗れた。

7分の窮地をGKの好セーブでしのいだレスターは、12分にユッタ・ランタラがカットインから強烈な左足の一撃を沈めて先制に成功する。

互いにチャンスを生かせないままレスターリードで終盤まで推移したが、83分、裏へ蹴られたボールをジョシー・グリーンがまさかの空振り。抜け出したジェシカ・ナズが一対一を沈めてトッテナムが試合を振り出しに戻した。

後半の残り時間は追い付いたトッテナムの猛攻をレスターがしのぎ、試合は延長戦に突入。98分のレスターはランタラのFKがクロスバーを叩き、PK戦も見え始めた118分、前に出たのはトッテナムだった。

CKの二次攻撃からこぼれ球を拾ったマチルダ・ヴィンバーグがクロスを送ると、ルアナ・ビューラーがヘディングでつなぎ、最後はマーサ・トーマスが頭でねじ込んだ。これが決勝点となり、トッテナムが初の決勝進出を果たした。

どちらが勝っても初優勝となる決勝は、5月12日にウェンブリー・スタジアムで開催される。なお、昨季は7万7390人が来場した。

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

「めっちゃおもろい」「好き」ライバルチームの少年ファンに写真を求められたハーランドの咄嗟の対応が話題に
