オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)で準優勝したイングランド女子代表が、次なる目標へ向けて歩みを進めている。2023年の女子W杯では過去最高成績を残したイングランドだったが、UEFA女子ネーションズリーグ(UWNL)ではノックアウトステージ進出を逃したことで、パリ・オリンピック行きが消滅。そのため、照準を4月にスタートする女子欧州選手権(ユーロ)予選に切り替え、今代表ウイークには、スペイン遠征を決行した。

23日のオーストリア女子代表戦を7-2の完勝で終えたライオネスは、27日のイタリア女子代表戦でも、5-1と勝利を収めた。
メアリー・アープス(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)やルーシー・ブロンズ(バルセロナ)といった主軸に加え、先のオーストリア戦で代表デビューを飾ったグレース・クリントン(トッテナム)らが先発したイングランドは、開始1分で試合を動かす。

アレックス・グリーンウッド(マンチェスター・シティ)の右CKをロッテ・ウーベン=モイ(アーセナル)がニアでそらしてネットを揺らし、代表初ゴールをマークした。
21分には再びグリーンウッドの右CKから、GKにパンチングされたボールをローレン・ヘンプ(マンチェスター・シティ)が押し込んでリードを広げると、34分にはまたも三度セットプレーから追加点を奪取。左CKが阻まれての二次攻撃から、ジョージア・スタンウェイ(バイエルン)の折り返しにヘンプが頭で合わせた。

ハットトリックを狙うヘンプは37分にも左足のフィニッシュを見せるなど、攻勢続くイングランドだったが、前半の追加タイム3分にショートカウンターから失点を喫し、3-1で前半を終える。

それでも、折り返しての69分にはグリーンウッドのフィードに途中出場のローレン・ジェームズ(チェルシー)が抜け出してマイナスに折り返すと、同じく途中出場のエラ・トゥーン(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)が鮮やかなボレー弾を沈めてリードを広げる。

79分にはこちらも途中出場、レイチェル・デイリー(アストン・ビラ)が相手のバックパスをさらってダメ押しのゴールを沈めてタイムアップ。

イングランドはビルドアップのミスから時折ピンチを招くシーンが散見されたが、選手層の厚さも見せ付け、2連戦を大勝続きで終えている。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

FIFA公式がロシアW杯ベストイレブンを発表! ヤングやパウリーニョら“クセがすごい”選出も…
