グリーリッシュが遂にイングランド代表初招集! ラッシュフォード、ウィンクスが離脱

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は31日、アストン・ビラのMFジャック・グリーリッシュ(24)をイングランド代表に追加招集することを発表した。

グリーリッシュはアストン・ビラの下部組織出身。これまで公式戦187試合に出場し25ゴール31アシストを記録。2019-20シーズンのプレミアリーグでは、36試合に出場し8ゴール6アシストを記録していた。

クラブでは10番を背負い、若くしてキャプテンを務めるグリーリッシュだが、世代別の代表はアイルランドを選択。U-21からイングランド代表でプレーすると、今回晴れてA代表に招集された。

ガレス・サウスゲイト監督とは、U-21イングランド代表でともに仕事しており、2016年のトゥーロン国際大会を戦っていた。

なお、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのFWマーカス・ラッシュフォードとトッテナムのMFハリー・ウィンクスが離脱。ウォルバーハンプトンのDFコナー・コーディ(27)とアーセナルのMFエインズリー・メイトランド=ナイルズ(23)がすでに追加招集されていた。

イングランド代表はUEFAネーションズリーグで5日にアウェイでアイスランド代表と、8日にアウェイでデンマーク代表と対戦する。

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。 元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
