トルコホームの1stレグをトルコが3-1で先勝していたなか、ハンガリーホームで行われた23日の2ndレグもトルコが3-0で快勝。2戦合計6-1の完勝でリーグA昇格を決めていた。
同試合ではチーム2点目を挙げたギュレルが1年前のフレンドリーマッチでも衝突が伝えられ、今回の再戦でもバチバチとやり合っていたソボスライに激しく詰め寄られた際に「黙れ」のジェスチャーを行い、小競り合いとなっていた。
ここまでであれば、試合中によくある揉め事として流されるはずだったが、試合後も怒りが収まらないハンガリー代表のキャプテンはハンガリー『Nemzeti Sport』がインスタグラムに投稿した当該のやり取りを収めた写真に対して、「1088」とのコメントを残した。
この数字はカルロ・アンチェロッティ監督の下、ポジション争いで苦戦するギュレルのマドリーでの今シーズンのプレータイムを揶揄したものとされ、物議を醸していた。
これに対して血気盛んな20歳MFも黙っておらず、自身のインスタグラムのストーリーズで反撃。「この男は冗談だ。6ゴールで黙るには十分じゃないのか?」とのキャプションとともに同じ画像とトルコの3-0のスコアを写した画像を投稿。
さらに、画像をよく確認すると、ハンガリーのスコアの下に「ソボスライ 1インスタグラムコメント」と細かな加工も加えられており、痛烈に煽り返した。
ここに至る両選手の衝突の経緯はわからず、外野がとやかく言うべきではないが、ひとまず互いに冷静さを取り戻し、今後は場外戦ではなく改めてピッチの上で白黒つけたいところか。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でクロアチアを応援する姿が多くのファンの目を惹いたイヴァナさん。14日に行われたUEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)2022-23準決勝のオランダ代表戦にも、フェイエノールト・スタディオンまで応援に駆け付けていた。
自身のインスタグラムでは観戦時の写真だけではなく、自らが手掛けた新たな水着コレクションも紹介された。
アルゼンチンやイタリアなど、各国の国旗を模した大胆なビキニやホルターネックなどに加え、男性用やジュニア用も展開。イヴァナさんはもちろん赤と白の市松模様の水着を身に付けて登場した。
ラインナップは前述の2国のほか、アメリカ、イングランド、ブラジル、フランス、ドイツ、メキシコ、スペイン。モデルを務めた各参加者は、ソロショット以外にも恋人や家族風の写真も撮影した。

アル・ナスルのポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(39)が自らの将来に言及した。ポルトガル『A Bola』が伝えた。
2003年のデビュー以来、20年以上ポルトガル代表でプレーしているロナウド。今夏のユーロ2024にも5試合出場し、ゴールこそなかったもののベスト8入りに貢献した。
YouTubeチャンネル開設も話題となったなか、現在サウジアラビアに戻ってリーグ戦を戦っているロナウドは、ポルトガル『NOW』のインタビュー取材に応対。代表からの引き際について語った。
「代表のカラーを身に着けていることをとても誇りに思うよ。夢のようなことだからね。だから、僕が代表を離れる時、事前に誰かに言うつもりはない。とても突発的な決断だけど、よく考え抜いた末の決断でもある」
「今僕が望んでいるのは、代表チームの助けとなれることだ」
また、現役引退後のキャリアにも言及。指導者の道を歩むつもりはないようだ。
「今のところ、どこかのチームの監督になることは考えていない。将来そうなるとは思っていない。サッカー以外のことも考えているけど、どうなるかは神のみぞ知ることだ」

ドイツサッカー協会(DFB)は29日、UEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)2024-25に臨むドイツ代表メンバー23名を発表した。
ユリアン・ナーゲルスマン監督が率いるドイツ代表。自国開催のユーロ2024では、準々決勝でスペイン代表相手に2-1で敗れて敗退していた。
期待外れの結果に終わったドイツ。ユーロを最後に、MFトニ・クロースが現役引退、GKマヌエル・ノイアー(バイエルン)、MFイルカイ・ギュンドアン(マンチェスター・シティ)、FWトーマス・ミュラー(バイエルン)が代表引退を表明しており、多くの選手の入れ替えが起きることとなった。
今回のメンバーには、DFアントニオ・リュディガー(レアル・マドリー)、FWレロイ・サネ(バイエルン)は休養のために招集外に。シュツットガルトのMFアンジェロ・スティラーが初招集を受けた。
そのほか、GKマルク=アンドレ・テア・シュテーゲン(バルセロナ)やDFヨナタン・ター(レバークーゼン)、DFジョシュア・キミッヒ(バイエルン)、MFフロリアン・ヴィルツ(レバークーゼン)、MFジャマル・ムシアラ(バイエルン)、FWカイ・ハヴァーツ(アーセナル)らが順当に選出されている。
ドイツはリーグA・グループ3に入り、オランダ代表、ハンガリー代表、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ代表と同居。9月7日にホームでハンガリーと、同10日にアウェイでオランダと対戦する。

DFユリエン・ティンバー(アーセナル)とMFクインテン・ティンバー(フェイエノールト)の双子兄弟がオランダ代表で初めて共にプレーした。
7日、UEFAネーションズリーグでリーグA・グループ3に属するオランダ代表は、第1節でボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ代表と対戦。FWジョシュア・ザークツィー(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)のゴールを皮切りに、5-2の大勝を収めた。
この試合では、ヒザの大ケガにより1年近く代表を離れていたユリエン・ティンバーが66分から出場。また、3月に代表デビューを果たしたクインテン・ティンバーも83分から登場し、2キャップ目を刻んでいる。
オランダ『Algemeen Dagblad』によると、オランダ代表で共にプレーした兄弟はこれが8組目。双子ではウィリーとレネのファン・デ・ケルクホフ兄弟、ロナルドとフランクのデ・ブール兄弟に次ぐ3組目の快挙となった。
ティンバー兄弟が共に戦ったのは約4年ぶり。前回はヨング・アヤックス時代で、2020年9月14日のヨングPSV戦だった。
