イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は31日、アストン・ビラのMFジャック・グリーリッシュ(24)をイングランド代表に追加招集することを発表した。

グリーリッシュはアストン・ビラの下部組織出身。これまで公式戦187試合に出場し25ゴール31アシストを記録。2019-20シーズンのプレミアリーグでは、36試合に出場し8ゴール6アシストを記録していた。

クラブでは10番を背負い、若くしてキャプテンを務めるグリーリッシュだが、世代別の代表はアイルランドを選択。U-21からイングランド代表でプレーすると、今回晴れてA代表に招集された。
ガレス・サウスゲイト監督とは、U-21イングランド代表でともに仕事しており、2016年のトゥーロン国際大会を戦っていた。

なお、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのFWマーカス・ラッシュフォードとトッテナムのMFハリー・ウィンクスが離脱。ウォルバーハンプトンのDFコナー・コーディ(27)とアーセナルのMFエインズリー・メイトランド=ナイルズ(23)がすでに追加招集されていた。
イングランド代表はUEFAネーションズリーグで5日にアウェイでアイスランド代表と、8日にアウェイでデンマーク代表と対戦する。

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

ルーニーとヴァーディの妻同士の名誉毀損問題、ルーニー夫人側の裁判費用約2.5億をヴァーディ夫人が支払いへ…総額約5億円

元イングランド代表FWウェイン・ルーニーと元イングランド代表FWジェイミー・ヴァーディの妻同士が揉めた問題で、弁護士費用に関して決着がついたようだ。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。 この問題はかつてイングランド代表で共に戦った2人ではなく、その妻。ルーニーの妻であるコリーンさん[写真右]とヴァーディの妻であるレベッカさん[写真左]の間に起きた。 コリーンさんは、過去数年にわたって、自身のプライベートに関わる情報が、ことごとくイギリス『サン』に掲載。コリーンさんのインスタグラムからの情報がほとんどだったが、そのアカウントは一部のフォロワーにしか知られないものであり、特にストーリーズの内容が掲載されていた。 そこでコリーンさんは囮捜査を敢行。5カ月間にわたり、ストーリーズの公開範囲をフォロワー1人1人に限定し、誰に公開した情報が『サン』に掲載されるのかを待っていた。そして突き止めた犯人が、ヴァーディの妻のレベッカさんだった。 その囮捜査は2019年に行われ、犯人を突き止めたコリーンさんはツイッターを通じてレベッカさんが犯人だを糾弾。しかし、当然ながらレベッカさんは否定。情報を流したことはないとし、ハッカーによって抜き取られたというなんとも苦しい言い訳を続けていた。 イングランド代表のストライカーの妻同士のいざこざ。収拾がつかなくなり、最終的には裁判に発展。結果、今年7月にコリーンさんの告発は「実質的に真実」との判決を下し、レベッカさんが「事実を知り、容認し、積極的に関わっていた」可能性が高いこととなっていた。 裁判も無事に終わった中、今度はその費用が問題に。被害者であるコリーンさんは100%レベッカさんが支払うべきだと主張。一方のレベッカさんは80%だと主張していた。 そんな中、裁判所から文書が届き、レベッカさんは弁護士費用の90%の支払いが命じられたとのこと。11月15日までにまずは80万ポンド(約1億3000万円)の支払いが必要になったとのことだ。 コリーンさんの弁護士チームは最終的な費用を提出していないようだが、裁判所が最後に受け取ったものだと166万7860ポンドとのこと。90%はおよそ150万ポンド(約2億4700万円)になる。 ちなみに、これはコリーンさんの弁護士費用であり、自身のものも含めれば300万ポンド(約4億9500万円)は超えることになると見られている。 2022.10.05 18:50 Wed

4度目の女子最優秀監督を受賞したヴィーフマン監督が契約延長、イングランド女子代表を2027年まで指揮

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は16日、イングランド女子代表のサリナ・ヴィーフマン監督(54)との契約延長を発表した。新契約は2027年の女子ワールドカップ後までとなる。 オランダ人指揮官のヴィーフマン監督は、オランダ女子代表としても活躍。1987年から2001年までプレーし99試合に出場。2003年に現役を引退すると、指導者の道に進んだ。 テル・リード、ADOデン・ハーグの女子チームを指揮したのち、2014年にオランダ女子代表のアシスタントコーチに就任。2015年には暫定的に監督となると、2017年に正式に監督に就任した。 オランダを率いては、2017年の女子ユーロで見事に優勝。2019年の女子ワールドカップ(W杯)では準優勝の成績を残し、その手腕が注目されることに。2021年の東京オリンピックでもオランダ女子代表を率いるも、ベスト8で敗退。その後、イングランド女子代表監督に就任した。 イングランドでは、2022年の女子ユーロで見事に優勝を果たすと、2023年の女子W杯では準優勝の成績を残していた。 指揮官としては、FIFA(国際サッカー連盟)女子最優秀監督に2017年、2020年、2022年、2023年と4度選出されており、15日に行われた『ザ・ベスト・FIFAフットボールアウォーズ』で4度目の最優秀監督に選ばれたばかりだった。 ヴィーフマン監督はFAを通じてコメントしている。 「信じられないような2年半を経て、2027年までイングランドを率いる機会を得ることができてとてもうれしい」 「将来に向けて、私たちにはまだやり残した仕事があり、それ以上のことができると分かっていますが、決して簡単なことではない」 「私たちのゲームはトップレベルで非常に競争的になってきている。私はその機会を楽しんでおり、ユーロ予選、そしてワールドカップが始まるのが待ちきれない」 2024.01.16 18:57 Tue

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
