レアル・マドリーの2シーズンぶり36度目のラ・リーガ優勝が決定した。

マドリーは4日、サンティアゴ・ベルナベウで行われたラ・リーガ第34節でカディスと対戦。バイエルンとのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)準決勝2ndレグを週明けに控える中、多くの主力を温存して臨んだが、MFブラヒム・ディアス、MFジュード・ベリンガム、FWホセルのゴールを、今季初出場のGKティボー・クルトワを中心に無失点で守り抜き3-0の快勝を収めた。

さらに、試合後に行われた3位のジローナと2位のバルセロナの上位対決でバルセロナが2-4で敗れたことで、4節を残してのプリメーラ制覇が決定した。

カルロ・アンチェロッティ第二次政権3年目となった今季は補強の目玉となったMFベリンガムに加え、DFフラン・ガルシア、FWホセル、MFアルダ・ギュレル、ミランからローンバックのMFブラヒム・ディアスといった新戦力を補強。

基本的には昨季からの継続路線で臨むと、シーズン序盤はそのベリンガムの驚異的な得点力と勝負強さで開幕5連勝。第6節のアトレティコ・マドリーとのマドリード・ダービーで今季初黒星を喫したが、以降は優勝を争うジローナ、バルセロナにいずれもシーズンダブルを達成するなど、22勝6分けの28戦無敗を継続。ライバルが勝ち点を取りこぼす中で独走態勢を築いた。

なお、第34節消化時点での74得点22失点はいずれもリーグベストで文句なしの2シーズンぶりの戴冠となった。
