最終ライン手薄のトッテナムがDF町田浩樹に関心? ポステコグルー監督の目に留まったか

今季はサン＝ジロワーズで守備を支える町田浩樹

日本代表DF町田浩樹(26)に対して、トッテナムが獲得を検討しているようだ。イギリス『90min』が伝えている。

ロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズでプレーする町田。2022年1月に鹿島アントラーズからレンタル移籍で加入すると、2023年7月に完全移籍へと切り替わった。

昨シーズンはケガの影響もあり出番が限られていたが、今シーズンはジュピラー・プロ・リーグで11試合に出場。ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)でも3試合に出場し、チームの守備を支えている。

日本代表にも招集を受けるようになり、10月、11月と続けて出場。4試合連続で起用されるなど、徐々に期待に応えている。

その町田に対してアンジェ・ポステコグルー監督が率いるトッテナムが関心を寄せているとのこと。最終ラインの選手層の厚さに不満を持っているという。

今シーズンは好スタートを切っていたトッテナムだったが、ケガ人が続出。特に最終ラインが野戦病院状態であり、全く出番がなかったDFエリック・ダイアーを起用しなければいけないほどだ。

そのトッテナムは1月の移籍市場でディフェンダーとの契約を求めているとのこと。ボーンマスの元U-21イングランド代表DFロイド・ケリー(25)、エバートンのイングランド代表DFベン・ゴッドフリーが候補だが、その中に町田も加わっているという。

ポステコグルー監督は横浜F・マリノス時代に町田をJリーグでも知っており、ベルギーに来てからも追いかけていたとのこと。その町田には、サン=ジロワーズの兄弟チームでもあるブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンも獲得を目指していたとされている。

セルティック時代にはJリーグから有望な日本人選手を獲得し、リーグ連覇や国内3冠を達成。トッテナムの監督に就任した際もFW古橋亨梧やMF旗手怜央らを連れてくる可能性も指摘されたが、それは実現しなかった。

現実的に最終ラインが手薄なトッテナム。町田のプレミアリーグ挑戦は実現するだろうか。
