アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)は3日、今月の代表ウィークに向けたアメリカ代表メンバー24名を発表した。
新型コロナウイルスの影響によって、今年2月のコスタリカ代表戦以降、活動停止の状態が続いていたアメリカ代表だが、今回のインターナショナルマッチウィークでは12日にウェールズ代表とのアウェイ戦、16日には中立地オーストリアでパナマ代表戦と2つの国際親善試合に臨む。
渡航や検疫などの問題によってほぼヨーロッパ組のみで戦う今回の代表戦では平均年齢21歳300日という若手中心のメンバー構成となった中、代表キャップ15試合以上の選手はエースのFWクリスチャン・プリシッチ(チェルシー)、DFジョン・ブルックス(ヴォルフスブルク)、DFティム・リーム(フルアム)、MFウェストン・マッケニー(ユベントス)ら数選手に留まることになった。
そして、今回の招集メンバー24名の内、10名は代表未キャップの選手が選出されたが、FWジョバンニ・レイナ(ドルトムント)を始め、DFクリス・リチャーズ(バイエルン)、MFユヌス・ムサ(バレンシア)、FWコンラッド・デ・ラ・フエンテ(バルセロナ)ら、ビッグクラブで将来を嘱望される逸材たちが揃った。

フルアム主将DFリームが12年半ぶりの母国復帰!シャーロットFCと2年半契約を締結
メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のシャーロットFCは7日、フルアムからアメリカ代表DFティム・リーム(36)を完全移籍で獲得した。契約期間は2026年12月31日までで、1年の延長オプションが付随している。 12年半ぶりの母国復帰となったリームは、公式サイトで以下のように喜びを語った。 ｢シャーロットFCに加入し、キャリアの次のステップとしてアメリカに戻ってくることができ、本当にうれしく思っている｣ ｢クラブ関係者と話をする中で、この組織と街が、私と家族がこれからの人生を歩むのにふさわしい場所であることは明らかだった。私は勝つためにここにいる。そして、最初のトロフィーをかけて戦うプレーオフに向けた重要な試合の準備をしながら、チームのことをもっと知りたいと思っている｣ 2010年にMLSドラフト2巡目でニューヨーク・レッドブルズに指名され、同年3月28日のシカゴ・ファイアー戦でプロデビューを飾ると、2012年1月にボルトンへ完全移籍。 その後、2015年にフルアムへ加入するとセンターバックとして公式戦312試合に出場。2021-22シーズンより主将を務め、昨シーズンもプレミアリーグ18試合を含む、公式戦21試合に出場していた。 また、61キャップを刻んでいるアメリカ代表としては昨年行われたカタール・ワールドカップで活躍。全4試合にフル出場し、ラウンド16進出に貢献していた。 2024.08.08 00:50 Thu

30年以上前の暴力沙汰を告発された元アメリカ代表監督、調査結果は問題なしで続投の可能性「彼は候補者」
