グリーリッシュが遂にイングランド代表初招集! ラッシュフォード、ウィンクスが離脱

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は31日、アストン・ビラのMFジャック・グリーリッシュ(24)をイングランド代表に追加招集することを発表した。

グリーリッシュはアストン・ビラの下部組織出身。これまで公式戦187試合に出場し25ゴール31アシストを記録。2019-20シーズンのプレミアリーグでは、36試合に出場し8ゴール6アシストを記録していた。

クラブでは10番を背負い、若くしてキャプテンを務めるグリーリッシュだが、世代別の代表はアイルランドを選択。U-21からイングランド代表でプレーすると、今回晴れてA代表に招集された。

ガレス・サウスゲイト監督とは、U-21イングランド代表でともに仕事しており、2016年のトゥーロン国際大会を戦っていた。

なお、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのFWマーカス・ラッシュフォードとトッテナムのMFハリー・ウィンクスが離脱。ウォルバーハンプトンのDFコナー・コーディ(27)とアーセナルのMFエインズリー・メイトランド=ナイルズ(23)がすでに追加招集されていた。

イングランド代表はUEFAネーションズリーグで5日にアウェイでアイスランド代表と、8日にアウェイでデンマーク代表と対戦する。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「泣きながら電話した」アルコール依存症に苦しむ元イングランド代表ガスコイン氏が家を出て居候に、それでも闘病に決意「戦い続ける」

イングランド代表が新ユニフォームを発表、赤ではなくなったアウェイは賛否分かれる「初めてじゃないか?」「そのチョイスはなしだ」
