クリスティアーノ・ロナウドを擁し、今夏はマルセロ・ブロゾビッチやアレックス・テレスなどのビッグネームも加入したアル・ナスル。3選手ともスタメンに名を連ね、昨シーズンのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)準優勝チームと顔を合わせる。
対するインテルは新キャプテンのラウタロ・マルティネスやニコロ・バレッラ、アレッサンドロ・バストーニといった主力組の多くがスタメン入り。また、今夏退団のブロゾビッチと日本の地で早くも再会することとなった。
2トップの一角で先発したアル・ナスルのC・ロナウドは7分、ボックス内で鋭い縦パスを受け、ワントラップで素早く前を向いて強烈な右足シュートを放つ。オフサイドの判定が下されたが、スタジアムを沸かせる。

C・ロナウドは破局したら毎月1600万円を支払い? 「妻」と呼んで話題のジョルジーナさんとの間に契約が発覚

元ノルウェー代表FWで現在は指導者として活躍するオーレ・グンナー・スールシャール氏が、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの監督時代を振り返り、当時を語った。 現役時代もユナイテッドでプレーしていたスールシャール氏。“ベビーフェイス・アサシン”という愛称もつけられるストライカーで、黄金期にプレーしていた。 そのスールシャール氏は、引退後にコーチとしてユナイテッドに残ると、2018年12月に暫定監督に就任。2019年3月から正式に監督に就任した。 暫定監督時代も含めて168試合を指揮したスールシャール氏。78勝33分け38敗の成績を残した。 スールシャール監督は、2021年11月に解任されることになるが、そのシーズンは電撃的にスーパースターが入団することに。かつてのエースであったポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(現アル・ナスル)がユベントスから開幕後に電撃加入したのだ。 そのC・ロナウドはデビュー戦となったニューカッスル戦でいきなり2ゴールを見せつけるなど、チームに明るい兆しを見せたかに思われたが、スールシャール監督はそうは感じていなかったようだ。 「断るのがとても難しい決定であり、受け入れなければいけないと感じたが、結果は間違っていた」 「彼が契約した時、まさに正しいと感じたし、オールド・トラッフォードが揺れたあのニューカッスル戦(ロナウドの2得点で4-1と勝利)で、ファンもそう感じたはずだ。彼は依然として、世界最高のスコアラーの1人であり、強そうに見えた」 「対戦カードを見ると、マンチェスター・シティ、リバプール、トッテナム、そしてアウェイのレスター・シティという決定的な時期だった。それから、チェルシーとアーセナル、そしてチャンピオンズリーグの試合があった」 「物事は我々にとって不利な方向へと進み、ホームのアストン・ビラ戦(0-1で敗戦)の終盤のPKの失敗から始まった」 「グループを作るときは、全員が同じ方向を向く必要がある。物事が上手くいかないとき、特定のプレーヤーやエゴが出てくるのが見られた。アウェイでトッテナムに3-0で勝利したが、その後の2試合で敗れた」 スタートは良かった中で、取りこぼしが目立ったシーズン序盤、リーグ戦ではアストン・ビラ、レスター、リバプール、シティと敗れ、ワトフォードに4-1で惨敗。これが最後の試合となった。 スールシャール氏は解任を知ったタイミングについても明かし、試合中に感じて選手に伝えたとのこと。ただ、結果には繋がらなかった。 「誰も教えてくれなかったが、ワトフォード戦(2021年11月に4-1で敗れた)のハーフタイムでわかった。我々はマンチェスター・ユナイテッドのチームには見えなかった。選手たちはお互いのために走っていなかった」 「ハーフタイムに私は選手たちに、おそらくこれが我々が一緒に仕事をする最後になるだろう、そして誇りを持ってプレーするようにと伝えた。ハリー・マグワイアが退場になるまで、ほぼ逆転するところだった」 苦しい時代を引き継いだスールシャール氏。古巣での指揮は難しいことも多かったが、最後は残念な終わり方をしたという。 「自分自身が思っているほど良くない選手もいた。名前は上げないが、キャプテンになるチャンスを断る数人がいたことはとてもガッカリした」 「また、他の選手がプレーも練習もしないと言った時もガッカリした。彼らは無理矢理にでも退団したかったからだ」 「私が退団した後、何人かの選手が私とどのようにして接していたかということメディアで取り上げられていたが、それは全くのウソだ」 「私は彼らのほとんどと、堅実で誠実な関係を築いていた」 2023.09.20 22:47 Wed

2011～2020年の世界ベストイレブンが発表!イニエスタとともに中盤に入ったのは相棒チャビではなく…

10年前、当時21歳のベイルがCLで覚醒…!インテル相手に記録した衝撃のハットトリック【CL名場面プレイバック】

長友の元同僚グアリン、自殺未遂と現在の生活を明かす「飛び降りれば解放される」

日本人が目指すべきCB像、“希少なバロンドーラー“ファビオ・カンナバーロ
