「奪って、つないで、また走る」。佐野海舟がガーナ戦で見せた超回収力と新中盤像
ガーナ代表との一戦で、ピッチを支配したのはMF佐野海舟だった。MF南野拓実の先制ゴールを導いたボール奪取とラストパス。MF久保建英が真っ先に駆け寄ったのは、決めた南野ではなく、その起点となった背番号21のもとだった。日本代表復帰から約半年。彼はいま、ボランチ争いで一歩抜け出そうとしている。 ■奪って、前へ。南野の先制点を生んだ“縦への意識” 前半26分。相手陣内の高い位置で、MF佐野海舟は迷いなく飛び込んだ。 相手のパスを読み切り、身体を滑り込ませてボールを奪うと、そのまま前方へ持ち上がる。ペナルティーエリア手前の右から放った横パスはMF南野拓実の足元へ。冷静にゴール右隅へ流し込んだ南野の背後で、MF久保建英が真っ先に走り寄った先は──佐野だった。 「ボールを奪ってから、前にスペースがあったので、うまく運べました。拓実くんがいい動き出しをしてくれたので、迷わずパスを出しました」 その言葉にあるのは、攻撃意識の変化だ。ブラジル代表戦、パラグアイ代表戦ではボールを奪っても後方に下げる場面が多かった。だが、この試合は、縦へのスイッチを入れる瞬間を逃さなかった。 「前半は簡単なミスもあったけど、そこを修正する方が先」と冷静に振り返る姿勢に、地に足の着いた成長がにじむ。 この日、森保ジャパンはマンツーマンを軸にした守備戦術を採用。誰が誰を見るのか、責任を明確にするスタイルだ。佐野のタスクは、ガーナの司令塔MFクワシ・シボを封じること。「奪って、前へ」のリズムを作るには、まず相手の呼吸を止める必要があった。 「ファウルに見えないように、ならないように、もう一歩早く行くことを意識していました」 その言葉どおり、予測とタイミングで勝負する。相手が前を向く瞬間にはすでに足を差し込み、ボールを刈り取る。久保や南野の輝きを支えていたのは、ボールハンター・佐野だった。 ■日本代表での「地位が上がったとは思っていない」 2024年7月、佐野は一度、代表から姿を消した。世間の視線は厳しかった。だが約1年後、森保ジャパンに戻ってきたとき、佐野のプレーには凄みが増していた。ブラジル戦で歴史的な勝利に貢献し、アフリカの強豪ガーナ戦ではMOMとも呼べる働きを見せた。 W杯を半年後に控えて、日本代表のボランチは再編期を迎えている。 第二次森保ジャパンでは、キャプテンのMF遠藤航とMF守田英正のダブルボランチが“不動”だった。しかし、遠藤はリバプールでクローザーとしての起用が増え、守田は怪我の影響で出場機会が限られている。 そんな中、クリスタル・パレスを牽引するMF鎌田大地の相棒候補として、佐野海舟の名前が浮上した。運動量、対人の強さ、そして前への意識。佐野の存在は、遠藤・守田の時代から次のフェーズへ移るチームの象徴でもある。 ただし、チーム内での立ち位置について問われると、首を横に振った。 「地位が上がったとも思っていません。自分のやるべきことを続けていくしかない。毎回の活動で課題が出て、それをチームに帰って修正して、また次へ。うまくいかないときにどう立て直せるかが大事だと思います」 ボランチの“一番手”を争う位置に立った今も、慢心とは無縁なのだ。 ボールを回収する力はもちろん、失われた信頼を一つずつ取り戻していく姿勢が、チームにエネルギーを与えている。奪って、つないで、また走る。その地道な積み重ねの先に、森保ジャパンの新しい中盤像が見えてくる。 取材・文=北健一郎 2025.11.15 13:30 Sat

「全ての監督が日本人を指導すべき」守田英正に感銘を受けたスポルティング監督が絶賛「良いことしか言えない」

追加招集からいきなり代表デビュー。稲本潤一以来の大型ボランチにかかる期待/伊藤敦樹(浦和レッズ/MF)【新しい景色へ導く期待の選手/vol.14】
「昨日の試合より、なんか今日の練習の方がちょっと緊張しましたね…」 6月15日のエルサルバドル戦から一夜明けた日本代表の豊田市内での練習後、前日初キャップを飾ったばかりの国内組ボランチ・伊藤敦樹(浦和)が戸惑い半分でこう言った。 それもそのはずだ。彼は普段通り、14日の浦和レッズのトレーニングに参加。自宅に戻った途端、代表追加招集の報を受け、一目散に試合会場へと向かったのだ。 年代別代表歴が皆無に近い彼にとって、面識があったのは、流通経済大学の先輩・守田英正(スポルティング・リスボン)くらい。それも1･4年と学年が離れているため、そこまで密な間柄ではない。慣れない集団に合流し、翌日のエルサルバドル戦前のアップで初練習し、後半31分に偉大な先輩と交代してアンカーのポジションに入るとは、本人も想像だにしなかっただろう。 「準備はしてましたし、(大きくリードしている)展開もあったので、チャンスあるかなと思ってたんですけど。アンカーでの出場で、少し難しさもありましたけど、まずはデビューできたことがよかったです」と彼は嬉しそうにコメントしていた。 2021年に中学・高校時代を過ごした古巣・浦和入りし、プロキャリアをスタートさせた伊藤敦樹。1年目からリカルド・ロドリゲス監督に重用され、存在感を発揮した。 185センチ・78キロという恵まれた体躯を備えたボランチというのは、日本にはそうそういない。「2002年日韓ワールドカップ(W杯)で一世を風靡した稲本潤一(南葛SC)と重なる」という声もあちこちで聞かれた。 「自分のことを知っている人は分かってると思いますけど、高校生の時は本当に線が細かった。足元とか技術の部分はあったかもしれないですけど、フィジカル的にかなり劣っていて、全然、プロのレベルではなかった。大学に行ってから自分なりに努力していって、今では持ち味になっていると思いますね」と本人も晩熟だった10〜20代にかけての軌跡を改めて明かしていた。 今の伊藤敦樹の魅力はスケールの大きさだ。が、昨季あたりまでは、かつての稲本同様、終盤になるとペースダウンしてしまうのが課題だった。ボックス・トゥ・ボックスの走りができなくなり、交代を余儀なくされるのがつね。本人も走力・運動量の向上に躍起になっていた。 迎えたプロ3年目の今季。AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)決勝アル・ヒラル戦でのタフな戦いを経験し、アジア王者の一員になったこともプラスに働き、伊藤敦樹は「頭を使った走りと駆け引き」ができる選手になった。コンスタントに90分フル出場が続いているのが、大きな成長の証である。 日本代表の森保一監督も目に見える進化を認めていたが、特にインパクトが大きかったのが、5月31日のサンフレッチェ広島戦だろう。すでに6月代表シリーズに初招集されていた川村拓夢とのマッチアップを制し、決勝弾を叩き出したアグレッシブなパフォーマンスはまさに圧巻。「伊藤敦樹はラージグループに入っている」と指揮官も認め、川村が体調不良で離脱した瞬間、この男の追加招集を決意したはず。そしてエルサルバドル戦でいきなりピッチに送り出したのも、大きな期待の表れに他ならない。 「自分みたいに身長があって、体格があってっていうボランチはなかなかないですし、そこに自分の存在価値があるし、チャンスはあるかなと。推進力だったり、前に行くプレーはどんどん出していきたい。自分らしさをどんどんアピールしていきたいなと思います」と遅咲きの男はギラギラと野心を前面に押し出した。 今の代表ボランチ陣は、ドイツ屈指のデュエル王・遠藤航(シュツットガルト)と守田が2枚看板で、負傷離脱中の田中碧(デュッセルドルフ)、欧州で実績を積み上げた川辺駿(グラスホッパー)、2列目を含めて幅広い役割をこなせる鎌田大地(フランクフルト)、旗手怜央(セルティック)とさまざまな人材がひしめいている。伊藤敦樹は熾烈なサバイバルを強いられるが、自身が強調する通り、恵まれたフィジカルとダイナミックな攻撃、迫力ある攻め上がりといったストロングを前面に押し出せれば、十分戦っていけるはずだ。 国際経験値という意味では海外組の面々に劣る部分もあるが、それはここから埋めていけばいい。まずは現有戦力の主力である三笘薫(ブライトン)や堂安律(フライブルク)、久保建英(レアル・ソシエダ)らとしっかりとコミュニケーションを取り、彼らの特徴を把握し、息の合った連係を見せられるように務めること。そこから全てが始まる。 すでにある程度出来上がっているユニットに入り込むのは大変かもしれないが、20代半ばから代表入りした伊東純也も少しずつ自分の地位を固め、エース級にのしあがった。そんな大卒組の成功例を参考に、希少価値の大型ボランチには一気に高いレベルへ駆け抜けてほしいものである。 2023.06.17 13:00 Sat

サプライヤーなしのウルグアイ代表が新ユニフォームを発表!男女平等促進のため紫色も取り入れた史上初のデザインに

「なんて可愛いんだ」「素晴らしいコンビ」PSGのウルグアイ代表MF、日本代表ユニフォームを笑顔で着用して話題に

【超WS美女ワールドカップ】グループAはロシアが断トツ!ウルグアイが2位通過に
