アメリカサッカー連盟(USSF)は22日、日本代表戦に挑む確定メンバーと背番号を発表した。
今年11月のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に臨むアメリカ。2大会ぶりの本大会ではイングランド代表、ウェールズ代表、イラン代表と同じグループBに入ったなか、今月の代表ウィークでは日本、サウジアラビア代表といったアジア勢との連戦に臨む。
まずは23日にドイツで日本と激突するアメリカだが、14日に発表した26名の招集リストから3選手が変更。セルティックDFキャメロン・カーター・ヴィッカース、クリスタル・パレスDFクリス・リチャーズ、バレンシアMFユヌス・ムサが負傷不参加となった。
代わって、トロワDFエリック・パーマー=ブラウン、ヘンクDFマーク・マッケンジー、インテルナシオナウMFジョニー・カルドーソが追加招集。そのほか、チェルシーFWクリスチャン・プリシッチをはじめとする中心選手は揃ってメンバー入りした。
いよいよ本大会に向けてメンバーの見極め段階に入った日本にとっても、腕試しとなるアメリカ戦。試合は日本時間23日の21時25分にキリンチャレンジカップ2022と銘打たれ、キックオフする。

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!
