CONCACAFネーションズリーグ決勝のメキシコ代表vsアメリカ代表が現地時間24日に開催され、2-0で勝利したアメリカが大会3連覇を達成した。

立ち上がり5分のアメリカはゴールエリア内左でフリーとなったクリスチャン・プリシックがシュート。だが、至近距離でのフィニッシュは、GKギジェルモ・オチョアにスーパーセーブに阻まれる。

対するメキシコも22分、ルイス・チャベスがゴール正面でのコントロールから左足を振り抜くが、こちらも守護神マット・ターナーが手中に収めた。

試合が動いたのは前半も終わろうかという45分だった。

アメリカはセットプレー崩れから二次攻撃を仕掛けると、左のウェストン・マッケニーが足の長い横パスを中央に通し、敵陣中央でフリーとなっていたタイラー・アダムスが右足を一閃。30m越えの強烈な弾丸ミドルを左隅へと突き刺した。

後半は球際のバトルも一層熱を帯び、イエローカードも飛び交い始めた63分、アメリカが再びスコアを動かす。

プリシックがおしゃれなコントロールでウリエル・アントゥナを抜き去り、左サイドを突破すると、クロスはクリアされるも、こぼれ球にいち早く反応したジョバンニ・レイナがボックス内左から右足でのボレーシュート。狭いニアを射抜き、リードを広げた。

2点を追い掛けるメキシコは72分、途中出場のサンティアゴ・ヒメネスがアントニー・ロビンソンとの競り合い時にボックス内で倒れ、PKを獲得する。

だが、VARからの進言とオン・フィールド・レビュー(OFR)の結果、コンタクトはなかったことが確認され、主審はヒメネスのシミュレーションに判定を変更した。

以降も猛追のメキシコをアメリカがシャットアウトし、2-0の完封勝ち。3度目の栄冠を手にしている。

アメリカ代表から5名が離脱…プリシックやマッケニーがクラブへ帰還

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

かつて日本を苦しめたアメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガンが新規参入チームへ電撃移籍「スタートが待ちきれない」
