そんなイタリアの中盤を支えるファジョーリだが、9日に行われたボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ代表との国際親善試合で腓骨を負傷していた。
『フットボール・イタリア』によれば、ボスニア・H戦以降チーム練習には合流せず、ジムでトレーニング器具などを使って調整していたファジョーリだが、13日にチームトレーニングに復帰。
しかし、このトレーニング中に痛みが再発したようで、スペイン戦、クロアチア戦に向けて、初戦のアルバニア戦を回避することとなったようだ。
前回王者のイタリアは、スペイン代表をはじめ、クロアチア代表、そしてアルバニア代表が集うグループBに組み込まれ、史上2カ国目となる大会連覇を目指す。

違法賭博に関与したことが明るみとなり、ギャンブル依存症であることも発覚したニューカッスルのイタリア代表MFサンドロ・トナーリ。主治医がギャンブルに依存してしまう理由について語った。イタリア『ガゼッタ・デッロ・スポルト』が伝えた。 ゴシップ・コラムニストのファブリツィオ・コロナ氏が告発した違法賭博問題。ユベントスのイタリア代表MFニコロ・ファジョーリとともにトナーリの名前が挙げられ、その他にも多くの選手の名前が浮上している。 ファジョーリはすでに司法取引も行われ、7カ月の出場停止処分を受けることに。トナーリも最低で1年の出場停止と考えられているが、ギャンブル依存症であることも同時にわかっている。 トナーリのギャンブル依存症の治療を担当するジェメリ総合病院の臨床・救急精神科部長であり、ローマの聖心大学の教授でもあるガブリエレ・サニ教授が、インタビューでギャンブル依存症について言及した。 「客観的なレベルで明確に識別可能な特徴を持つ病的な依存症について話している。国際的に成文化された定義ツールがある」 「最も明白なのは、自分がすることに対する喜びが完全に失われ、それに代わってそれをすることを『強制』されることだ」 依存が起こる理由を語ったサニ教授。家族や近くにいる人たちがその症状に気付けない理由もあると解説した。 「この病気の特徴の1つは病的なウソだ。恥ずかしさ、恐怖、自己嫌悪からか、我々は最も親しい人に対してさえ、全てを隠す傾向がある」 「確かに、特に彼らに苦しみを与えていると確信している彼らにとってはそうだ。そこから抜け出すための最初のステップの1つは、問題を認識し、それを共有することだ」 悪いことをし、依存していることを自身が理解しながらも、それを隠すことでより依存度が高くなるというもの。ギャンブルに限らないことではあるが、一度共有し、通常のサポートを得られることは回復に繋がるようだ。 「一度沈黙の壁が打ち破られれば、家族環境の中で、自分の欲望と能力に応じた健康的なライフスタイルは確かに役立つ」 「従って、プロサッカー選手は、サポートしてくれるチームメイトと一緒にトレーニングをすることで安らぎを得ることができるだろう」 トナーリもファジョーリも若くしてギャンブルに依存してしまった。それには、外的な要因も多いとのこと。結果として、最終的にはギャンブルで稼げるお金は関係なくなるという。 「病状は区別なく誰にでも影響を及ぼす。若いサッカー選手は特に外部からの圧力やメディアの注目から来るストレスと責任を抱えている」 「状況は苦悩を生み、機能不全のメカニズムを活性化させ、それによって『治療法』が賭けのアドレナリンとなる。もはやそれなしではいられないものになり、強迫行為、制御できない行為となる。最終的な利益は全く関係ない」 依存していく理由を解説したサニ教授。トナーリは自身が所属していたミランの試合でも賭けを行っていたが、全てミランが勝利する方に賭けていたとのこと。八百長や試合操作などの問題からは逃れられるが、これは自身を正当化するための儀式だったという。 「ギャンブル依存症者には独自の儀式があるため、迷信的な手順に従うものだ。サンドロはこのため、ミランの勝利に賭けた。これは彼の幸運の儀式の一部であり、『魔法の思考』と呼ばれている」 自身が勝利に賭け、チームが勝てば幸せになる。心の拠り所の1つにもなっていたというギャンブル。一方で、ピッチ上で若くして高い評価を受け、イタリア代表としてもプレーしていたトナーリは復活できるのか。サニ教授は、これまで以上になる可能性もあるとした。 「それだけじゃない。この重荷を背負った状態で今の地位を気づいたのであれば、重荷から解放された後は以前と同様、いや、それ以上に自分の可能性を発揮することができるだろう」 世界中を揺るがしている違法賭博問題。すでに大金を手にしているため、お金を稼ぐために行っている可能性は低い。選手それぞれには理由があるが、しっかりと治療して立ち直れるのか。クラブを含めた周りのサポートが何よりも治療には重要になりそうだ。 2023.10.20 12:15 Fri

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

マテラッツィ、ジダンとの“頭突き事件”を引き起こした侮辱発言の真相を明かす
