ケガ人が相次いでいる日本代表だが、また1人問題を抱える選手が現れてしまった。

3月には北朝鮮代表との2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア2次予選の連戦を戦う日本。連勝スタートとなった今回の予選だが、難しい2試合を迎えることとなった。13年ぶりにアウェイ・平壌での試合開催も決定した中、日本代表は14日にメンバー発表を控えているが、ケガ人が続出。MF三笘薫(ブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン)、DF中山雄太(ハダースフィールド・タウン)は今季絶望とも言われている。

そんな中で新たな心配事が。スポルティングCPのMF守田英正がヨーロッパリーグ(EL)ラウンド16・2ndレグのアタランタ戦を急遽欠場することとなってしまった。

ポルトガル『A Bola』によれば、アウェイゲームに臨むスポルティングのメンバーに守田は含まれていたが、リスボンのウンベルト・デルガド空港に向かうバスの中で体調を崩したとのこと。遠征に参加しないことが決定したことをルベン・アモリム監督が明かした。

守田はどうやら発熱しているとのこと。さらに、試合に向けたトレーニングで頭部に打撃を受けており、大きな問題はなかったものの、脳震とうなどの可能性があるとされ、今回の体調不良にも影響を与えた可能性もあり、大事をとって残ることとなったようだ。

アモリム監督は守田について「危険を冒したくはなかった。風邪のようだが、正確には分からない」とコメント。「我々は最善を尽くしたが、選手の健康が第一だ」と、守田のことを考えて、ポルトガルに残すことを決めたという。

どこまで影響があるかは不明だが、このまま体調が回復しなければ日本代表としての活動も難しいことに。週末のボアヴィスタ戦に向けて回復に努めるとされているが、どうなるか注目だ。

日本代表DF中山雄太、試合中に前歯2本を失う悲劇
