アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)は14日、今月の国際親善試合に臨むアメリカ代表メンバー26名を発表した。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)出場のアメリカは、今回のインターナショナルマッチウィークで22日に日本代表戦(ドイツ)、27日にサウジアラビア代表戦(スペイン)を戦う予定だ。

この重要なテストマッチに向け、グレッグ・バーハルター監督は、DFセルジーニョ・デストやMFウェストン・マッケニー、MFジョバンニ・レイナ、FWクリスチャン・プリシッチら主力を招集した。

鹿島、クラブ・ワールドカップに向けた招集メンバー決定

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

▽2006年の元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカムのロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー加入以降、ヨーロッパや南米のビッグネームを獲得し続けているアメリカのメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)。今夏の移籍市場では元イングランド代表MFスティーブン・ジェラード(ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー)、元イングランド代表MFフランク・ランパード(ニューヨーク・シティ)に加え、イタリア代表MFアンドレア・ピルロ(ニューヨーク・シティ)という3人のスーパースターの加入が決定した。本稿では再び注目を集めるMLSの現状についてレポートしていきたい。 ◆サッカー界のガラパゴス ▽まずは前編として、MLSの現状にスポットを当てる前に、同リーグの基本的な情報について紹介していきたい。翌年に行われるワールドカップに先駆けて1993年に創立されたMLSは、1996年に10クラブでスタート。アメリカの四大スポーツ(MLB[野球]、NFL[アメリカン・フットボール]、NBA[バスケットボール]、NHL[アイスホッケー])と同様に人気スポーツコンテンツとなることを目指し、創立から20年弱でエクスパンション(新規クラブの参入)を繰り返すなど着実に発展を遂げ、2015シーズンからはイーストカンファレンス(10チーム)とウェストカンファレンス(10チーム)の2ディビジョンでの合計20チーム体制(所属チームは※1参照)となった。 <div style="text-align:center;"><img src="http://ultra-soccer.jp/division_image/TOP/get201507mls2_480000.jpg" alt="" class="yui-img" width="290px"></div><div style="font-size : x-small; text-align : right;">Getty Images</div><div style="font-size : x-small; text-align : left;">[着実に成長を遂げるMLS]</div> ▽ヨーロッパの主要リーグとは趣きの異なるMLSは、リーグ運営の部分で独自の制度を採用している点が大きな特徴だ。日本と同様に春秋制(3月～12月)を採用しており、1シーズンはレギュラーシーズン(3月～10月)、MLSカップ・プレーオフ(11月)、MLSカップ(12月初旬)の3段階に分かれている。 ▽まず、レギュラーシーズンでは、イーストカンファレンスとウェストカンファレンスの2つのディビジョンに分かれて合計34試合を戦う(同じカンファレンス所属の9チームとホーム&アウェイ方式での18試合に加えて、ホーム戦3試合、アウェイ戦3試合の計6試合、さらに別カンファレンス所属の10チームとホーム戦5試合、アウェイ戦5試合の計10試合を戦う)。 ▽レギュラーシーズン終了後、各カンファレンスの上位6チーム、計12チームがMLSカップ・プレーオフに進出する。まず1回戦では、各カンファレンスごとに、3位と6位のチーム、4位と5位のチームがノックアウト方式で対戦。その勝者がそれぞれ、同一カンファレンスの1位、2位のチームとホーム&アウェイ方式の準決勝を行う。最後に、準決勝を勝ち抜いた2チームが、同じくホーム&アウェイ方式の決勝で対戦し、各カンファレンスの王者を決定するという仕組みだ。 ▽そして12月初旬に、2つのカンファレンスの王者が一発勝負のMLSカップで対戦し、勝利したチームが、そのシーズンのMLSの年間王者となる。年間王者には翌シーズンのCONCACAFチャンピオンズリーグ出場権が与えられる。 <div style="text-align:center;"><img src="http://ultra-soccer.jp/division_image/TOP/get201507mls3_480000.jpg" alt="" class="yui-img" width="290px"></div><div style="font-size : x-small; text-align : right;">Getty Images</div><div style="font-size : x-small; text-align : left;">[2014年のシーズン王者となったLAギャラクシー]</div> ▽なお、レギュラーシーズンに最多の勝ち点を獲得したチームには、“サポーターズ・シールド”という賞が贈られ、さらに年間王者と同様に翌シーズンのCONCACAFチャンピオンズリーグ出場権が与えられる。また、ヨーロッパの主要リーグや南米リーグとは異なり、MLSでは下部カテゴリーへの降格などの入れ替えは行われない。 ▽さらに前述した四大スポーツに倣うようにサラリーキャップ制度(各クラブの所属選手の総年棒の制限。および、選手1人あたりの年俸上限の設定。詳しくは※2参照)とドラフト制度(新人選手の獲得)を導入している。また、大物選手の獲得に関しては、特別指定選手制度(Designated Player)と分配金制度(Allocation money)、特殊分配金制度(Targeted allocation money)といった独自の制度を設けている。 ▽別稿の後編では、アメリカに新天地を求めたスター選手たちの状況や、新制度導入の影響、さらには今後のMLSが抱えるであろう問題点について、具体的に論じていく。 <span style="font-size : small;"> ※1:MLS所属チーム 【ウェストカンファレンス】 コロラド・ラピッズ FCダラス ヒューストン・ダイナモ ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー ポートランド・ティンバーズ レアル・ソルトレイク サンノゼ・アースクエイクス シアトル・サウンダース スポルティング・カンザスシティ バンクーバー・ホワイトキャップス 【イーストカンファレンス】 シカゴ・ファイアー コロンバス・クルー D.C.ユナイテッド モントリオール・インパクト ニューイングランド・レポリューション ニューヨーク・シティ ニューヨーク・レッドブルズ オーランド・シティ フィラデルフィア・ユニオン トロントFC ※2:2015シーズンのルールでは、1チームの登録人数が28人。そのうち、年俸額上位20選手の年俸総額の上限が349万ドル(約4億3000万円)に設定されている。また、1選手が最大で受け取れる年俸の上限額は43万6250ドルに決められている。</span> 《超ワールドサッカー編集部・岸上敏宏》 2015.07.24 18:30 Fri
