「試合が終わった時に勝ち点3が取れればそれでいいと思って試合に臨みました」と語ったのは、日本代表DF板倉滉(シャルケ)。27日に行われた中国代表とのカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア最終予選を終え、最初に出てきた言葉だ。
27日がバースデーだった板倉。そして、不測の事態もあり、W杯最終予選に出場するチャンスが舞い込んできた。
今回の2試合は中国代表とサウジアラビア代表とホームでの連戦。W杯出場に向け、ここでも2連勝が求められる戦いとなる。
しかし、守備の要であるキャプテンのDF吉田麻也(サンプドリア)が負傷により不参加。さらに招集されていたDF冨安健洋(アーセナル)が回復したケガが再び悪化し、招集を辞退した。
最終予選を支え続けた2人のCBを欠くという異例の事態。これまでの日本代表を見ても、このような事態はほとんどなかったはずだ。

「今回もニッコニコ」もはや恒例!1人だけ笑顔の日本代表集合写真がまたも話題に「待ってました!」「いつも笑顔が素敵」

水頭症の治療も及ばず他界した工藤壮人に古巣が追悼…カナダからもメッセージ「一番辛い仕事」、「信じられません」

“ゴリラ”と勘違い?長友と子供の会話に吉田たちも大爆笑「俺図鑑に載ってた!?」
