まさに偉大なるキャプテンと言える行為だろう。日本代表も対戦したクロアチア代表でキャプテンを務めるMFルカ・モドリッチの試合後の振る舞いが話題だ。9日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)準々決勝でクロアチアはブラジル代表と対戦した。

日本とのPK戦を制してベスト8に進出したクロアチアと、韓国代表を圧倒してベスト8に進出したブラジル。4年前の準優勝という悔しさを晴らすために戦うクロアチアと、20年ぶりとなる史上最多6度目のW杯制覇を目指すブラジルの一線は非常に堅い試合となった。
試合は90分をゴールレスで終えると、延長前半アディショナルタイムにネイマールがゴール。ブラジルが先制しそのまま終わるかと思われたが、延長後半12分にブルーノ・ペトコビッチが値千金の同点ゴール。PK戦に突入した。

PK戦ではブラジルが2人失敗。クロアチアは4人とも成功し、4-2で勝利。ブラジルの夢は敗れることとなった。
試合後、項垂れるブラジルの選手たち。そんな中、モドリッチはネイマールやアントニーなどブラジルの選手たちに歩み寄り、声を掛けていった。

相手をしっかりとリスペクトしているからこその行動。この行為にファンは、「尊敬に値する」、「真のチャンピオンだ」、「ルカは最高だ」、「素晴らしい行為だ」とコメント。また「ブラジルは同じことをするだろうか?」、「ブラジルはまだ学ぶものがある」と、ピッチ上でのダンスが話題となったブラジル代表を揶揄するコメントも多く寄せられている。

「向上し続けないと、家で殺される(笑)」バルベルデが最も厳しい批評家の妻や恩人などの逸話明かす

2011～2020年の世界ベストイレブンが発表!イニエスタとともに中盤に入ったのは相棒チャビではなく…

レアル・マドリー、カマヴィンガとも年俸アップの契約延長へ! 違約金も1575億円に引き上げ

「史上最悪」「恥ずかしい」伝統の市松模様が史上最大サイズになったクロアチアの新ユニフォームには酷評の嵐「これ以上酷いものは見たことがない」
