イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は27日、アストン・ビラのコロンビア代表FWジョン・デュランの3試合の出場停止処分に対する異議申し立てを却下したことを発表した。
デュランは26日に行われたプレミアリーグ第18節ニューカッスル戦に先発。32分にスライディングタックルでボールをクリアにかかったニューカッスルDFファビアン・シェアの背中を踏みつける形になり、一発レッドカードを提示されていた。
見方によってはバランスを崩してやむを得ず足が背中に入ったとも考えられたが、微妙な判定ながらVARは入らずそのまま退場となっていた。
ビラを率いるウナイ・エメリ監督もVARが入らなかったことに試合後、疑問を投げかけていた。
今季ここまでプレミアリーグで7ゴールを挙げ、FWオリー・ワトキンスと共にチーム内得点王となっているデュランを欠いてビラは今後、ブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、レスター・シティ、エバートン戦を戦うことになった。

バレンシアがバレネチェアを獲得…今夏ユーベからアストン・ビラに完全移籍
