オランダ代表DFデイリー・ブリント(34)は、同国のサッカー史に残る偉大な選手だ。

オランダサッカー界の重鎮、ダニー・ブリント氏を父に持つデイリー・ブリント。父も長く在籍したアヤックスからキャリアを歩み始めたサラブレッドは、ことあるごとに父と比較される若手時代を過ごしたが、24歳で見事、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドへのステップアップを果たす。

以後、復帰したアヤックスで2018-19シーズンのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)4強進出に貢献、浦和レッズ行きも噂されたなかで昨季途中にバイエルンへ。訳あってほとんど出番なく半年で退団したが、今季加入のスペイン1部ジローナでは全世界が驚く大躍進を支えている。
そんなブリントはオランダ代表通算104キャップ(現役最多)。現時点で歴代6位の記録であり、今回の代表ウィークで1試合でも出場すれば、“偉大なるリーダー”ジョバンニ・ファン・ブロンクホルスト氏が持つ「105」キャップと並ぶことになる。

センターバックや左サイドバック、ボランチなど、あらゆるポジションをこなすマルチロールとして名高いブリントだが、現在のオランダ代表ではベテランながらも[3-5-2]の左ウイングバックを主戦場に。走力は間違いなく衰えているだろうが、それを感じさせない頭脳の持ち主だ。
父ダニー氏は1980〜90年代にかけて通算42キャップ。とうの昔に父のキャップ数を追い抜き、34歳となってもなお第一線で活躍するブリントは、オランダのサッカー史に名を残す偉大な選手なのだ。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

「外さないな」「これは買い」オランダ代表の新ユニフォームが大好評!唯一の懸念はエンブレムの色?「なぜこの色なんだ」

ピッチ上では大人びたプレーを見せるフレンキー・デ・ヨングもキッチンでは役立たず?まさかの大失敗で美人彼女に呆れられる
