日本代表が厳しい状況に追い込まれてしまっている。

16日から2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア2次予選を戦う日本。26名の選手を森保一監督は招集し、再びW杯を目指す。

2次予選は、ミャンマー代表、シリア代表、北朝鮮代表と対戦することとなり、初戦はホームでミャンマーと、21日には中立地のサウジアラビアでシリアと対戦する。
しかし、その日本代表に新たな負傷者が。セルティックのFW古橋亨梧が12日に行われたスコティッシュ・プレミアシップ第13節のアバディーン戦で負傷した。

この試合は6-0で快勝し、古橋もゴールを決めていたが、中盤でボールを収めようとした際に後方から勢いを持って潰しに来た相手DFに後頭部へ頭突きを浴びる。そのまま前のめりの形でピッチに叩きつけられる格好となった。
無事に自力でピッチを後にしたが、そのまま交代。試合後ブレンダン・ロジャーズ監督は古橋について言及し、日本へは行かないと明言した。

「メディカルチームはキョウゴはここにとどまり、日本には行かないと言っていた。彼はここで1週間休養する予定だ」

脳震とうの疑いがあり、その場合はプロトコルに乗っ取りプレーは不可能。日本サッカー協会(JFA)からの正式な発表はないが、不参加になるものと考えられる。

すでにFW前田大然(セルティック)、MF川辺駿(スタンダール・リエージュ)の不参加が発表され、古橋を入れれば3人目。また、12日のJリーグで浦和レッズのMF伊藤敦樹が負傷交代。さらに、DF板倉滉(ボルシアMG)、FW中村敬斗(スタッド・ランス)、MF旗手怜央(セルティック)もケガで招集外となっており、MF守田英正(スポルティングCP)もケガで試合に出ていない状況となっており、W杯予選スタートに向けて厳しい台所事情になりそうだ。

「コミュニケーションを取っていた」7カ月ぶりに日本代表復帰の伊東純也は離脱中も森保一監督と連絡、前回の最終予選は4戦連発も「やるべきことをやっただけ」

まだ正式決定ではないが、森保一監督の『2年間の』続投が決まったようだ。正式には来年のJFA(日本サッカー協会)理事会での承認待ちになる。その頃にはコーチ陣などのスタッフの詳細も決定しているだろう。 93年のJリーグ誕生以降、日本代表の監督は基本的にW杯の4年サイクルで交代してきた。例外は94年のアジア大会で韓国に敗れたロベルト・ファルカン氏、97年のアウェー中央アジア2連戦で更迭された加茂周氏、07年に病に倒れたイヴィチャ・オシム氏、15年に契約解除されたハビエル・アギーレ氏、そして18年に解任されたヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ氏の5人しかいない。 そうした過去30年の歴史のなかで、初めて『続投』が決定的となったのが森保監督である。目標としていた「ベスト8」には届かなかったものの、大国ドイツとスペインに逆転勝ちを収めたことが高く評価されたことは言うまでもない。 そこで過去の歴代監督の任期を振り返ると、上には上がいるもので、長沼健氏(元JFA会長)は1962年から69年までの7年間と、さらに72年から76年までの4年間、トータル11年間も日本代表の監督を務めた。「時代が違う」と言ってしまえばそれまでだが、おそらく2度と破られることのない記録と言っていいだろう。 長沼氏が“長期政権"を担うことになったのには理由がある。64年に東京五輪があったからだ。このため62年に33歳の若さで監督に抜擢された。そして東京五輪ではグループリーグでアルゼンチンを倒して決勝トーナメントに進出。準々決勝で銀メダルに輝いたチェコスロバキアに0-4で敗れたが、ベスト8進出で日本に“第1次サッカーブーム"を巻き起こした。 さらに4年後のメキシコ五輪では、アジア勢初となる銅メダル獲得の快挙を達成。その再現を半世紀後の21年東京五輪で森保監督は期待されたが、残念ながらメダルにはあと一歩届かなかった。 長沼氏は69年のメキシコW杯アジア1次予選で、韓国とオーストラリアの後塵を拝したことで監督の座をコーチだった岡野俊一郎氏(元JFA会長)に譲る。しかし岡野氏が71年のミュンヘン五輪予選で韓国とマレーシアに負けたことで、日本サッカーの復権は再び長沼氏に託されることになった。 ところが73年の西ドイツW杯アジア予選はイスラエル(当時はアジアに所属し、中東勢が対戦を拒否したため予選は東アジアに組み込まれた)とマレーシアに敗れ、76年のモントリオール五輪アジア予選も韓国とイスラエルに敗れて監督から退くことになった。 当時の日本サッカーは、「W杯予選は負けても当たり前」であり、五輪予選で敗退するたびに監督は交代していた。Jリーグ開幕以前では、92年のバルセロナ五輪アジア最終予選で敗れた横山謙三総監督、88年ソウル五輪アジア最終予選で中国に逆転負けを喫した石井義信氏(故人)、80年モスクワ五輪アジア予選で韓国とマレーシアに及ばなかった下村幸男氏らである。 しかし96年のアトランタ五輪に28年ぶりに出場して以来、五輪出場は7大会連続して出場。その間には12年ロンドン五輪と21年東京五輪ではメダルまであと一歩に迫った。もう五輪は出場するのは当たり前で、次の24年パリ五輪は「メダル獲得」がノルマになるだろう。 同じようにW杯も98年以降7大会連続して出場中で、さらに2026年のアメリカ・カナダ・メキシコ大会は出場国が48に増えるため、出場権を失うことはまず考えられない。森保監督にとっては「ベスト8」への再チャレンジになるが、その前に横内昭展ヘッドコーチは磐田の監督に、上野優作コーチはFC岐阜の監督に転身するなどスタッフの陣容は一新せざるを得ない。 果たして新たなスタッフの顔ぶれはどうなるのか。そこに外国人コーチが入るのかどうかなどは楽しみなところ。 そして森保監督は、23年こそ秋まで親善試合しかない“静かな"一年になるものの、21年東京五輪は「金メダル」を目標に掲げながらも4位に終わり、カタールW杯も「ベスト8」が目標だったがラウンド16で敗退した。このため、まだ先の話ではあるが、24年のアジアカップでは『優勝』がW杯まで続投するためのノルマにすべきではないだろうか。 2022.12.26 22:00 Mon

「自分の成長を感じられるのは嬉しい」代表初選出を喜ぶ満田誠、成長のきっかけは「チョウ・キジェ監督との出会い」

日本代表FW満田誠(サンフレッチェ広島)が21日、メディアのオンライン取材に応対し、EAFF E-1サッカー選手権での意気込みを語った。 19日から開幕したE-1サッカー選手権。日本は初戦の香港代表戦で6-0の大勝を収めており、現在は24日の中国代表戦に向けて準備を進めている。 所属する広島で17日にリーグ戦を戦った影響から、合流が遅れ初戦はその他の同僚と共に出番なしに終わった満田。それでも初招集となった代表での活動については「今まで自分が対戦してきた選手と過ごせて、これまでなかったコミュニケーションや会話があったりします。自分にとっては貴重な時間になっていますね」と早くも充実感を語る。合流の遅れについても「周りの選手よりスタートは遅れましたが、まだ2試合あります。それに向けての練習もあるので、しっかりとアピールして、少しでも多くの時間出場して、結果を出せれば良いですね」と、あくまでポジティブな姿勢を貫いている。 森保一監督からの言葉として「初日に合流したとき、今の自分の活躍を評価して選出したと言われました」と明かした通り、満田はルーキーイヤーながら今季公式戦ですでに7ゴールを記録。自身もこの成績について「プロ1年目のシーズンから結果を数字として出せているので、満足する結果になっているかなと。でも、まだまだ結果を出す必要があるとも思っています」と触れており、満足感と共にさらなる改善を期している。 そんな満田は広島のユースに所属していたものの、トップチームには昇格できず、流通経済大学へ進学。しかし、そこで出会ったチョウ・キジェ監督(現京都サンガ)との出会いが、キャリアの転機になったと明かした。 「自分の中で転機になったのは大学時代ですね。3年生のときに、チョウ・キジェ監督と出会ったのが転機でした。チョウさんと出会う前まで、ゴールだけにこだわり過ぎていて、点がとれなければ駄目だと思っていたんです」 「でも、点だけでなく自分の特徴であるハードワークやアシストで貢献できることはあると、チョウさんと話して感じました。そして、それをやっていると、ボールが自然と来るようになって点をとれるようになったんです。そこで、結局全部は繋がっている、チームのためにやれば、最終的に自分に返ってくるのだと思いました」 さらに、現在広島を率いるミヒャエル・スキッベ監督についても「今いる広島の選手に合ったスタイル、戦術だと思っています。自分にもすごく合っていますしね。チームとしてやることが統一されていて、自分の役割もはっきりしているので、良い監督に出会えたなと思います」と触れており、恵まれた環境でプレーできる感謝を口にした。 代表でのアピールポイントとしては「攻撃はもちろん、守備でもしっかりと貢献できるのが特徴かなと思います。それと、ゴールに関わることが自分の得意なプレー。得点はもちろん、アシストとかで得点に関与できれば自分の特徴を最大限に発揮できると思うので、そこはこだわっていきたいですね」とコメント。「可能性が高いわけではない」としつつも、「この後日本代表を背負って、W杯に出られる可能性もゼロではありません」と滑り込みでのW杯メンバー入りへの野心も示している。 初招集、Jリーグではルーキーということもあり、所属クラブが同じ選手を除き、ここまで多くの選手とコミュニケーションを取れていないという満田。ただ、FW宮市亮(横浜F・マリノス)との間ではその豊富な海外での経験について聞く機会があったという。 「自分と比べて、宮市選手はプレー年数や経験が桁違いです。海外での話や、実際にプレーして衝撃を受けた選手の話を聞きました。話を聞いていると、やはり世界と日本では経験値の差が違うなと思いましたね。でも、Jリーグと海外を比べて、Jリーグにも良さはあると宮市選手は語ってくれたので、Jリーグもレベルは高くなってきているのかなと感じました」 これまで年代別の代表にも選出された経験がなかった満田は「率直に嬉しいですね。でも、スタート地点に立っただけかなと。これから選ばれるだけでなく試合に出て、結果を残して、もっと上を目指す位置づけに今大会をしていきたい」と宣言。今回広島の選手が6人選出されたことにも触れ「試合に一緒に出れば、ほかの選手よりは連携がとれて、プレーしやすい環境になるかなと思います」と期待を込めている。 また、広島から選ばれた選手の中でも、すでに代表経験を積んでいるGK大迫敬介に対しては「同期の大迫選手が代表に入っていたので、その存在は大きかったですね。負けたくない、代表に入りたいという思いが強まりました。彼は高校の時から常に先を行く存在です。まだ追いついたとは思っていませんが、それでもやっと同じ立場に立てたかなと。自分の成長を感じられるのは嬉しいです」と語るなど、強く意識する存在のようだ。 最後に、今後代表で存在感を増していく方法を聞かれた満田は「結果も大事ですが、チームメイトや監督からの信頼も大事です。だから、やるべきことをやり、プラスアルファで自分のゴールやアシストという特徴を出したい。毎試合のように結果を出せれば、メンバーに定着して活躍できると思うので、それにこだわりたいです」として、試合に向けた意気込みを示した。 2022.07.21 15:36 Thu
