元西ドイツ代表エースでハンブルガーSVのレジェンドであるゼーラー氏が85歳で他界

かつて西ドイツ代表として活躍し、ハンブルガーSVでキャリアの大半を過ごしたウーヴェ・ゼーラー氏が他界した。85歳だった。

ハンブルク出身のゼーラー氏は、地元クラブのハンブルガーSVのユース育ち。そのままファーストチームに昇格した。

1953年から1972年まで、20シーズンにわたってハンブルガーSVでプレー。580試合で490ゴールを記録し、偉大なストライカーとして名を残している。

西ドイツ代表としても72試合で43ゴールを記録。4度のワールドカップに出場し、1966年のイングランド大会では決勝でイングランドと対戦し敗れていた。W杯4大会では全て複数得点を記録しており、これは史上2人しか達成していない記録。もう1人は、同じドイツ人のFWミロスラフ・クローゼとなっている。

西ドイツ代表としてはキャプテンを務めた時期もあり、フランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏らともプレー。引退後には名誉キャプテンにも就任した。さらに1995年には古巣であるハンブルガーSVの会長に就任したが、1998年にスキャンダルの影響で関与はしていなかったものの辞任していた。

クラブ幹部のヨナス・ボルド氏は、公式サイトを通じて追悼のメッセージを送っている。

「ウーヴェ・ゼーラーは、善良な人間を特徴付ける全ての要素を兼ね備えていました」

フリック監督解任でドイツ凋落の原因は?/六川亨の日本サッカーの歩み

日本がドイツ戦に4-1と快勝した翌日、飯田橋のJFAハウスでは第19回日本サッカー殿堂掲額式典が、名誉総裁である高円宮妃殿下をお招きして開催された。今年の掲額者は現国士舘大学理事長の大澤英雄氏、元JFA会長の大仁邦彌氏、長年少年サッカーの指導者として育成に貢献し、現在はコメンテーターとして活躍中のセルジオ越後氏、漫画「キャプテン翼」の作者である高橋陽一氏、そして2011年の女子W杯で優勝したなでしこジャパン(日本女子代表チーム)だった。辛口コラムで知られるセルジオ越後氏だが、前夜の日本の快勝には「何も言うことはありません」と答えて会場の笑いを誘った。そして選手として来日し、その後は1979年に日本で開催された第2回ワールドユース(現U-20W杯)にコカ・コーラ社が大会スポンサーになったことで、「普及をしようと思って」スタートした「さわやかサッカー教室」で全国を巡回。25年間で50万人以上の少年少女を指導した。指導を始めた当時の日本は「高校生からサッカーを始める子も多かった」時代だった。今回の受賞に関しても、「普及を評価されたのはうれしい。国籍はブラジルですが、日本に来て51年、両親の国でもらえたのもうれしい」と素直に喜びを口にした。そして今日である。やはりというか、ドイツ代表のハンジ・フリック監督がDFB(ドイツサッカー連盟)から解任された。英BBCによると、1926年に役職が設置されて以来、任期中の解任は初のことだそうだ。これまでもドイツ(西ドイツ時代を含め)は、代表監督の任期は最低でも8年、2回のW杯というのが暗黙の了解だった。アシスタントコーチ時代を含めれば、代表チームに関わる時間はさらに長い。そうした継続性と合理性・計画性が、彼らのストロングポイントと思われてきた。実際、28年に監督に就任したオットー・ネルツ(34年の第2回イタリアW杯で3位)からハンジ・フリックまで歴代監督は11人しかいない。日本が、大日本蹴球協会を設立した1921年以降、現在の森保一監督まで延べ30人という人数と比べてもその少なさがわかるだろう(岡田武史氏や長沼健氏の再任は人数にカウントしていない)。 80年代まで、日本の場合は五輪やW杯予選で敗退すると監督交代が基本で、98年に初めてW杯に出場してからは、4年サイクルで監督が代わるのが通例となっていた。それに対しドイツは長期的な視野に立っての強化から、最長ではヨアヒム・レーヴが15年間でW杯は10年南アで3位、14年ブラジルでは優勝、08年のEUROでも準優勝を果たしている。かつて72年にEUROで初優勝後、74年の自国開催のW杯でも優勝したあとは(ヘルムート・シェーン監督)、96年にEUROで3度目の優勝を飾るまで、ドイツはW杯でも優勝か準優勝が当たり前の時代があった。そんなライバルをゲリー・リネカーは「サッカーは11人でやるスポーツだが、最後に勝つのはドイツだ」という名言を残した。しかしそれも、W杯で2大会連続してグループリーグ敗退では「過去の名言」と言わざるを得ない。では、なぜドイツはここまで凋落してしまったのだろうか。シュバインシュタイガーは2013年にバイエルンの監督に就任したベップ・グアルディオラが3年連続してブンデスリーガを制したことで、「ドイツサッカーのバルセロナ化」をもたらしたことが凋落の一因と、日刊ゲンダイIGITALで鈴木良平氏(日本人初のドイツS級ライセンスを初めて取得)が紹介していた。「シンプルにゴールを目指し、劣勢でも諦めない姿勢」、いわゆる「ゲルマン魂」の喪失である。これはこれで、面白い指摘だと思う。そしてもう1点は、やはり育成が上手くいっていないのか、代表選手のスケールダウンを感じずにはいられない。日本との試合でも、脅威になっていたのはサイドアタッカーのサネとニャブリくらい。そんな彼らも後半、日本が5BKにして人数を増やすと前半の輝きは失われていった。超大国だったころのドイツ(西ドイツ)には、ローター・マテウスやマティアス・ザマー、ミヒャエル・バラックのような「中盤の将軍」がいた。前線には速さ、強さ、高さを兼ね備えたルディ・フェラー、ユルゲン・クリンスマン、ミロスラフ・クローゼといったストライカーがいた。しかし一昨シーズンまで得点王はロベルト・レヴァンドフスキが5シーズン連続して獲得しているように、ドイツ人選手の影はかなり薄まっている印象が強い。いまドイツサッカーに何が起こっているのか。それを日本も調べることで、今後の強化に役立てることができるのではないだろうか。ドイツをロールモデルに強化を進めてきた日本サッカーだけに、同じ失敗を繰り返さないためにも彼らの問題点を共有すべきである。 2023.09.12 10:15 Tue

バラックやクローゼらが所属したドイツの名門・カイザースラウテルンが破産申請

ドイツの名門クラブが、破産に追い込まれることとなってしまったようだ。ドイツ『SWR SPORT』によると、現在は3部に所属するカイザースラウテルンが破産を申請しているとのこと。地方裁判所に破産申請を行なったとのことだ。報道によると、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の感染拡大によりクラブの収入が大幅に減少。また、無観客での試合開催も追い打ちをかけ、現在2400万ユーロ(約29億円)にまで負債が膨れ上がっているとのことだ。この影響は来シーズンにもあり、当初の1100万ユーロ(約13億2500万円)から1500万ユーロ(約18億円)にまで増加する可能性があるという。直近では、今回の財政危機を乗り越えるためにコストカットなどの話し合いが続けられてきたが、結論は出ていないとのこと。また、新たな投資家が現れておらず、破産することに決めたという。なお、今回の破産申請は、自己管理による手続きとなるようで、クラブの取締役がサポートを受けながら再建を目指す「計画倒産」とのこと。クラブは3部にとどまり、消滅することはないようだ。ドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)は、本来であれば9ポイントの勝ち点剥奪となるものの、新型コロナウイルスによる危機のため取りやめに。しかし、6月30日以降に倒産した場合は剥奪される可能性もあるため、早めに手続きを行ったとのことだ。カイザースラウテルンはブンデスリーガで2度の優勝経験がある名門クラブ。近年は下部リーグに所属しているものの、長年にわたってブンデスリーガに所属していた。過去には元ドイツ代表MFミヒャエル・バラックやFWミロスラフ・クローゼ、DFアンドレアス・ブレーメなども所属していた。今シーズンはドイツ3部に所属しており、32試合を終えて12位に位置している。 2020.06.15 16:05 Mon

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、日本代表とも対戦するドイツ代表だが、その“愛称”について議論がなされている。 2014年のブラジルW杯では優勝を果たしているドイツ代表。チームの愛称として「Die Mannschaft(ディー・マンシャフト)」が採用されている。これはW杯制覇後の2015年にドイツ代表のマネージャーを務めるオリバー・ビアホフ氏が呼称として導入したもの。意味は「これがチームだ」というものだが、廃止の方向で話が進んでいる。ドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)のベルント・ノイエンドルフ会長は、この呼称について終わる可能性があることを20日にコメント。7月末に結論を出すという。「終わりが来る。7月末に責任機関の会合が開かれ、決定が確実に下される。終わりのない話には興味がない」「今回の定性調査では、我々のイメージを固め、意見をまとめることができるはずだ。ただ、調査に依存することはない」この言葉の生みの親とも言われるビアホフ氏は「我慢すれば良い」と会長の決定を受け入れることを示唆。日本と対戦するときにはもう使われない愛称となっていそうだ。 2022.06.21 14:30 Tue

ドイツのレジェンド・バラック氏が21歳モデルとキス…新恋人は2年前に他界した息子の親友

イングランドの育成はドイツより上? ドルトムントGMが見解
