リバプールのレジェンドである元イングランド代表DFのジェイミー・キャラガー氏が、レンジャーズのスティーブン・ジェラード監督の去就を予想した。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えている。

こうしたジェラード監督の手腕を高く評価し、招へいに動いていると噂されるのがアストン・ビラだ。現在リーグ5連敗で15位に沈むビラは、7日にディーン・スミス監督を解任。後任の選定を急いでいる。
現時点でまだ大きな動きはないものの、かつてリバプールで共にチームを支えてきた間柄であるキャラガー氏は、ジェラード監督にとってビラの指揮官就任は大きなチャレンジになると後押し。一方で、プレミアリーグ挑戦の前にレンジャーズで連覇を目指しても遅くはないとも助言している。

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
