イングランド代表のDFハリー・マグワイアが、ユーロ2020決勝を振り返った。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。

11日、ユーロ2020決勝のイタリア代表vsイングランド代表がロンドンのウェンブリー・スタジアムで開催。PK戦までもつれた試合は、イタリアが3-2で勝利し、53年ぶり2度目のユーロ制覇を成し遂げた。

大会初優勝を目指したイングランドは、開始2分にルーク・ショーのゴールで先制。55年ぶりのメジャートーナメントでの決勝進出で、試合早々の先制ゴールにスタンドは大いに沸いた。

そのまま試合は推移したが、67分にCKの流れから最後はレオナルド・ボヌッチが押し込み、イタリアが同点に追いつく。

そのまま延長戦でに入るが互いにゴールを奪えずPK戦へ。すると、イングランドはマーカス・ラッシュフォードがPKを失敗。さらに、準決勝のスペイン代表戦でも躍動したイタリアの守護神GKジャンルイジ・ドンナルンマがジェイドン・サンチョのシュートをセーブし、イングランドは追い込まれる。

イタリアが決めれば勝利が決まる中、イングランドのGKジョーダン・ピックフォードがジョルジーニョのシュートを気迫のセーブ。首の皮一枚繋いだが、ブカヨ・サカのシュートは再びドンナルンマがセーブし勝負あり。イングランドの初優勝はならなかった。

守備のリーダーとしてイングランド代表を牽引したマグワイア。試合を振り返り、失望をあらわにした。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
