アストン・ビラは16日、アーセナルからアルゼンチン代表GKエミリアーノ・マルティネス(28)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表した。契約期間は2024年6月30日までの4年となる。
なお、イギリス『フットボール・ロンドン』が伝えるところによれば、移籍金は2000万ポンド(約27億2000万円)となったようだ。
ビラを率いるディーン・スミス監督は、クラブ公式サイトを通じて新守護神の獲得に満足感を示している。

控えGKとして長年苦労してきたマルティネスは、正守護神がケガをしたときに登場するにとどまっていた中、2019-20シーズンはヨーロッパリーグのグループステージ6試合を任されることに。また、ドイツ代表GKベルント・レノがケガをしたことで、中断明けのプレミアリーグ9試合に出場していた。
さらに、FAカップでは全ての試合に出場し見事優勝をたぐり寄せると、今シーズンのコミュニティ・シールドでもゴールを守り、リバプールを下す活躍。しかし、ミケル・アルテタ監督がレノをより高く評価していることもあり、出場機会を求めて今夏の移籍を決断した。

「試合前にあれだけ喋ったら勝てるわけがない」アルゼンチン代表GK、試合前のオランダ指揮官の無駄口に言及「保存しておいた」「それが力になった」

「寄せすぎ」「コピーだ」アストン・ビラの新エンブレムがチェルシーに酷似?実は過去のデザインを踏襲したもの

アストン・ビラ、エジプトのトレゼゲ獲得に迫る
