たった1つのミスが失点に直結するゴールキーパー(GK)というポジション。当然ながらGKがゴールを決めることはほとんどなく、ストライカーやドリブラーに比べて目立ちにくい部分もある。しかし、裏を返せばセーブひとつでチームを救うこともできる、勝敗のカギを握るポジションとも言える。今回の企画『Unbelievable Saves』(信じられないセーブ)では、各クラブの守護神たちが見せた驚きのセーブを紹介していく。
今回は元ブラジル代表GKネトが、ユベントス時代に大舞台で見せたチームを救うセーブだ。
2009年にブラジルでプロデビューを飾ると、2011年フィオレンティーナへ移籍し、欧州デビューを果たしたネト。2015年7月にユベントスへ移籍したが、第2GKとしてカップ戦での起用が主だった。
前半に2点を奪い、優勢に立っていたユベントス。後半に入って点を取りに来るラツィオの猛攻に遭う中、57分にラツィオに決定機。
右サイドでボールを持ったラツィオのMFフェリペ・アンデルソンが中央へクロスすると、これをファーポストで待っていたFWチーロ・インモービレが頭で合わせる。
DFアンドレア・バルザーリが必死の守備を見せると、インモービレのヘディングはバルザーリとの間で何度も跳ね返り、反応が難しいタイミングでネトの前に飛ぶ。
偶然の跳ね返りによってタイミングを完全に外されたネトだったが、何とか踏みとどまり、右手でボールを掻き出し難を逃れた。
これ以外にもネトのセーブが要所で光ったユベントスは2点の差を守り、タイトルを手にしている。

ネドベド氏がアル・シャバブのスポーツ・ディレクターに就任、副会長務めたユベントスでは9連覇に貢献
