イングランドサッカー協会は13日、国際親善に向けた女子代表メンバー名を発表。DFリア・ウィリアムソン(アーセナル)がヒザの前十字じん帯断裂から復帰後、およそ1年ぶりの招集を受けた。オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)では準優勝の成績を収めながらも、パリ・オリンピックへの出場権は逃したイングランド。

次なる目標を4月にスタートする女子欧州選手権(ユーロ)2025予選に切り替え、この代表ウイークにはスペインキャンプを決行。23日にオーストリア女子代表、27日にイタリア女子代表とスペインで国際親善試合を行う。
メンバーには大ケガを乗り越えたウィリアムソンが復帰した。26歳のセンターバックは、母国開催のユーロ2022でキャプテンとしてライオネスを初優勝へ導いたが、2023年4月19日のFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)、マンチェスター・ユナイテッド戦でヒザを負傷。前十字じん帯断裂と診断され、W杯出場を逃していた。

今年に入って1月25日に途中出場ながらも実践復帰を果たすと、4日には先発出場。負傷直前の2023年4月頭以来の代表選出となった。
イングランドを率いるサリナ・ヴィーフマン監督はイギリス『BBC』にて、「何カ月も離脱していたにもかかわらず、彼女の判断力は本当に優れている」と評価した一方、すぐに再びキャプテンを任されるかどうかについては明言を避けた。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

FIFA公式がロシアW杯ベストイレブンを発表! ヤングやパウリーニョら“クセがすごい”選出も…

イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」
