ヨーロッパリーグ(EL)グループステージ第1節が8日に各地で行われた。

今シーズンのグループステージには、アーセナルのDF冨安健洋、ソシエダのMF久保建英、フライブルクのMF堂安律、モナコのFW南野拓実、ウニオン・ベルリンのMF原口元気、ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズのDF町田浩樹、ヘルシンキのMF田中亜土夢ら7人の日本人選手がプレーする。

今回の第1節では、冨安や久保、堂安、南野、原口が先発出場となった。
ホームでカラバフと対戦したフライブルクは4分、左CKの競り合いの際にギンターがバイラモフと激しく接触し倒れると、VARの末にPKを獲得。このPKをグリフォがゴール左隅に決め、幸先良く先制した。

さらにフライブルクは15分、右サイドでパスを受けた堂安がドリブルでカットイン。そのままボックス内に入ると、ゴール左隅にシュートを流し込んだ。
その後、39分にヴェショビッチの強烈なミドルシュートで1点を返されたフライブルクは、後半にも何度か危ない場面を作られたが、堂安のゴールで逃げ切り2-1で勝利した。

一方、南野が2試合ぶりの先発となったモナコは、アウェイでツルヴェナ・ズヴェズダと対戦。前半から膠着状態が続く中、モナコは67分に南野やベン・イェデルらを下げてディアタやエンボロを投入。

すると74分、ディアタの右クロスに反応したゴロビンがボックス内でスルニッチに倒されPKを獲得。このPKをエンボロがゴール左に決めると、これが決勝点となり、モナコが1-0で勝利した。

また、原口に所属するウニオン・ベルリンと町田の所属するサン=ジロワーズによる日本人所属クラブ同士の対戦が実現。試合は39分にライネンが挙げたゴールで逃げ切ったサン=ジロワーズが1-0で勝利した。原口は60分までプレー、町田はベンチ外となった。

「やっぱりリーダー」堂安律はWBCの大谷翔平に刺激、「初心に戻ろう」と新生・日本代表に合流した理由は?

本田圭佑を彷彿!堂安律の金髪×スーツ×サングラス姿が反響「ギラギラ感」「かっこよさがダダ漏れ」
