イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は、チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)で発生した人種差別的発言の調査をスタートしたという。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。
問題が発生したのは、15日に行われたプレストン・ノースエンドvsバーンリーの一戦。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドから今シーズン加入したチュニジア代表MFハンニバル・メイブリが人種差別的発言を受けたとしていた。
ハンニバルはプレストンのモンテネグロ代表Fミルティン・オスマイッチから人種差別的は発言を受けたと非難。アンドリュー・キッチン主審に対してこの疑惑を報告し、FAは報告書を受けて調査に入るという。
オスマイッチは発言を強く否定したが、ハンニバルは試合後に「起こったことについて沈黙するつもりはない。人種差別を聞いたり見たりしたときは、いつでも声を上げ続ける」とインスタグラムに投稿。「それがスポーツ界、そして社会として変わる唯一の方法だ。僕は強い人間だが、誰もピッチ上でこのようなひどい虐待を受けるべきではない」と訴えていた。
プレストンは今回の件を受けて声明を発表。「ミルティン・オスマイッチは、審判団との試合後のミーティングで、ハンニバル・メイブリに対して行った発言の主張を強く否定した」としている。
また「何が言われたのか、本当の詳細については触れたくない。いずれ明らかになるだろう。ハンニバルがそれを報告し、ひどく落胆している。今後数日で何が起こるか見てみよう」と、調査に委ねると語っていた。
オスマイッチは、2024年10月にブラックバーン戦でオーウェン・ベックに噛み付く愚行で8試合の出場停止処分を受けていた。今回の人種差別発言が処分となれば、今シーズン2度目の処分となる。

足首があらぬ方向に…試合中のアクシデントに負傷させてしまった相手選手が号泣

リバプール育ちの元イングランド代表DFフラナガンが29歳で現役引退…ヒザのケガが原因
