バーンリーのチュニジア代表MFハンニバル・メイブリが悪質な退場で大きな批判を浴びている。イギリス『SPORT BIBLE』が伝えている。2024年夏の移籍市場でマンチェスター・ユナイテッドから完全移籍で加入したハンニバル。1年でのプレミアリーグ復帰を目指す新天地ではチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)で19試合に出場も、わずかに1アシストと期待された活躍は見せられずにいる。
さらに、1日に行われたストーク・シティ戦(0-0△)では69分に途中投入されたなか、87分に愚行を働いて退場となった。
相手陣内左サイドでDFジュニオール・チャマデウからボールを奪い返そうとしたハンニバルは、相手を後ろから押し倒すと、仰向けに倒れた相手の腹部を何のためらいもなく踏みつけてタッチラインを割ったボールを回収に向かった。
過度に踏みつけるまでには至らなかったが、無防備な腹部をスパイク裏で踏まれたチャマデウは悶絶。すぐさま味方の異変に気が付いたストークの選手たちは怒りを露わにすると、当然のことながら主審からハンニバルにレッドカードが掲示された。
また、試合終了後にバーンリーのスコット・パーカー監督は「彼はチームを失望させたし、私を失望させたし、スタッフを失望させた」と憤りを露わ。それでも、「彼もそれを理解している。ひどく落ち込んでいるが、私は彼と向き合い、この状況に対処するつもりだ。しかし、彼はまだ成長途中の若者だ」と、チームとして更生を促すつもりだと親心も見せた。

ロナウジーニョ息子が英2部バーンリーへ加入…昨季はバルサのU-19チームでプレー

四面楚歌のサンビ・ロコンガ、恩師率いるバーンリーが受け皿に?

バーンリー、ミランが買取見送りのブランクスへ1stオファー
