アジアカップ2023のラウンド16、オーストラリア代表vsインドネシア代表が28日にジャシム・ビン・ハマド・スタジアムで行われ、オーストラリアが4-0で勝利を収めた。

過去の対戦成績はオーストラリアの11勝3分け1敗。アジアカップでの顔合わせはこれが初となった。

オーストラリアはグループBを2勝1分けの首位で突破。最終節ではFC町田ゼルビアのFWミッチェル・デュークがハムストリングの負傷ためにメンバー外となっていたが、この日はベンチへ。アルビレックス新潟のDFトーマス・デンが代わってメンバー外となった。
一方のインドネシアは、日本代表と同組のグループDで1勝2敗の3位ながらも、同国史上初のグループステージ突破を果たした。最終節の日本戦からスタメン3人を入れ替えたこの日は、引いて構えるのではなく、果敢なプレッシングを決行し、素早い切り替えとタイトな守備で、序盤の主導権を握る。

6分には左サイドからのハーフバウンドのクロスに対し、ニアに入ったラファエル・ウィリアム・ストライクが右足のアウトサイドで合わせ、この日のファーストシュートを記録する。
だが、先制したのはオーストラリア。12分、右サイドからジャクソン・アーバインが左前方の味方へ斜めに当てると、相手にカットされるもワンツーのような形となって、ボックス右へ侵入する。

さらにアーバインのクロスはカバーに入ったエルカン・バゴットの足に当たってディフレクションし、GKの逆を突くようにニアへ。GKエルナンド・アリ・スタリャディも反応したが弾き切れず、ボールはゴールへ吸い込まれ、オウンゴールと記録された。

試合を動かしたオーストラリアだが、以降もパッとせず、躍動するのはインドネシア。23分にはジャスティン・ヒュブナーがボックス手前右から左足の巻いたシュートを放ち、38分には右からのクロスにヤコブ・サユリがダイレクトボレー、41分には見事な連係からマルセリーノ・フェルディナンが右足を振るも、枠を捉えられない。

すると45分、対照的にオーストラリアがワンチャンスを生かし、したたかに追加点を奪う。右サイドからジェスィン・ジョーンズが早いタイミングで低弾道のクロスを入れると、ファーのマーティン・ボイルがダイビングヘッドで合わせ、リードを広げて前半を終えた。

点差を広げられたインドネシアだが、後半も戦う姿勢を崩さず、前向きな守備を継続。コンタクトでも引けを取らない。逆にオーストラリアは我慢が続く中で、ジョーンズがボールとは無関係なトリッピングと、子供のような報復行為で警告を受けるなど、苛立ちも垣間見える。

それでもオーストラリアは89分、クレイグ・グッドウィンが途中出場からわずか2分後にこぼれ球を左足で蹴り込み、大きな追加点を奪取。90+1分にはセットプレーからハリー・サウターがヘディングを沈めて勝負あり。

オーストラリアが要所で得点を重ねる勝負強さを見せ付け、ベスト8進出を決めた。

“日本キラー”ケイヒル、オーストラリア代表を引退! 通算成績107試合50ゴール

C大阪がMF乾貴士、FWアダム・タガートの手術結果を報告…ともに全治2カ月

豪州FWに「英語を話せないふりをした」とユニ交換拒否揶揄されたジルーがナイスな反応!
