歴代最多7度のバロンドール受賞を誇る35歳FWは、以前からペレ、ディエゴ・マラドーナ、ヨハン・クライフ、クリスティアーノ・ロナウドらと共にフットボール史上最高のプレーヤーの座を争ってきたが、これまで唯一欠けていたW杯を制覇したことで、その論争に終止符が打たれたとの見方が強まる。
しかし、バルセロナでメッシと長らくプレーしてきたイニエスタは、今回のW杯制覇の偉業に関係なく元同僚が世界最高の選手であると主張している。

まるで日本人!? イニエスタファミリー、桜が恋しくなったインスタ投稿が話題「いつでも歓迎」「忘れないでいてくれてありがとう」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
