「驚きに満ちたW杯となる可能性」クリンスマン氏、欧州勢の苦戦を予想

元ドイツ代表監督のユルゲン・クリンスマン氏が、カタールW杯における欧州勢の苦戦を予想した。ドイツ『キッカー』が伝えている。

現役時代に3度、引退後はドイツ代表監督として1度、アメリカ代表監督として1度と、計5度ものW杯を経験したクリンスマン氏。今大会はFIFAのテクニカルスタッフとして、自身6度目のW杯に参加することが決まっている。

開幕を目前に控え、ドーハで行われたメディアレセプションに元日本代表監督アルベルト・ザッケローニ氏らとともに登壇。今大会は異例の冬開催となり、有力選手らのケガによる辞退続出も波紋を呼んだが、同氏はかえって新鮮味がある大会になるだろうと口にしている。

「ほぼ全選手が所属クラブでリーグ戦を戦い、その足でカタールまで来た。フィジカル的な準備は何ら必要ないし、一方では自らを限界まで追い込まなければならない状況とも言える。新鮮に感じるだろうし、ハングリーな気分にもなるはずだ」

欧州各国のリーグ戦がつい先日まで行われていたことにも触れ、とりわけ準備期間が少なかった欧州チームの監督は難しい舵取りが強いられるだろうと分析。その他の地域に躍進のチャンスが巡ってきていると語った。

1年持たずに解任のクリンスマン監督、韓国サッカー協会は違約金11.3億円を支払う可能性…支払い義務条項が含まれているとも

就任から1年が経たずに解任されてしまった韓国代表のユルゲン・クリンスマン監督(59)だが、違約金も相当な金額になるようだ。 2023年2月27日に韓国代表の監督に就任したクリンスマン氏。かつてはドイツ代表やアメリカ代表を指揮した中、就任当初から懐疑的な目を向けられてしまう。就任から5試合勝利がなかった韓国。2023年9月のサウジアラビア代表戦で初勝利を収めると、そこから7連勝。ただ、アジアカップ2023では難しい戦いを強いられる。グループステージを突破し、決勝トーナメントではサウジアラビア、オーストラリア代表と優勝候補を相手に120分の死闘で勝ち切るも、準決勝では格下のヨルダン代表相手に2-0で完敗。これにより、再び解任論が巻き起こることとなった。また、ヨルダン戦を前にチーム内で揉め事が発生。ヨルダン戦では笑顔で相手を称えた行為が、負けていながら不適切だとし、国民の大きな反感を買っていた。大韓サッカー協会(KFA)は、15日にアジアカップの内容を分析し、チームの状況について会議を行った中、「マネジメント能力に疑問がある」として、解任する方向性が示されていた。そんな中迎えた16日、正式に解任が決定。1年持たずの解任となってしまった。韓国『聯合ニュース』によれば、クリンスマン監督は2026年7月まで残っていたとのこと。北中米ワールドカップ後までの契約を結んでいたが、約2年半の契約を残しての解任となり、違約金を支払うことに。解任時は残り期間の年俸を支払う義務の条項が入っているという。クリンスマン監督の年俸に関しては、29億ウォン(約3億3000万円)程度とされており、残り期間の支払いを考えると70億ウォン(約7億9000万円)程度の支払いが必要となるという。さらに、コーチ陣も退任させており、その違約金も含めれば、総額で100億ウォン(約11億3000万円)になると見られている。 KFAのチョン・モンギュ会長は解任発表後に会見を行い「監督との契約解除に関する事項は、弁護士と相談しなければならない」と語り、「私が会長として財政的になにをすべきかを考えてみる」とコメントした。また、今回の事態については「総合的な責任は協会、そして私にある」とコメント。ただ、「原因に対する評価はもう少し詳しく見て、対策を立てるようにする」とコメントした。 2024.02.16 19:40 Fri

リバプール退任決定のクロップ監督、休養希望もドイツ代表が招へいに動く?

マテウスが5度目の離婚…結婚時は「最後の妻になることを願う」と語るも叶わず
