7日、国際親善試合のイングランド女子代表vsアメリカ女子代表がウェンブリー・スタジアムで行われ、2-1でイングランドが勝利を収めた。7月に母国で開催された欧州女子選手権(女子ユーロ)2022を制したイングランド。直近の2019年フランス大会をはじめ、ワールドカップ(W杯)で4度頂点に立っているアメリカ。

来年のオーストラリア&ニュージーランドW杯でもしのぎを削ることになるであろう両チームの一戦は、ホームチームに軍配が上がった。
10分、イングランドはFWベス・ミードが右サイドの深い位置から低く速いクロスを入れると、相手に先に触られるも、こぼれ球がFWローレン・ヘンプのもとへ。これを冷静に流し込んで先制点を奪う。

ビルドアップのミスから28分にFWソフィア・スミスに同点弾を許したが、5分後にオン・フィールド・レビュー(OFR)により、PKを獲得。これをMFジョージア・スタンウェイがGKの逆を突いて沈め、勝ち越しに成功した。
アメリカも直後にMFトリニティ・ロッドマンがネットを揺らしたが、VARにより前のプレーでオフサイドがあったと判断され、ゴールは認められず。後半にはPKが宣言されたが、OFRの結果取り消しとなった。

このまま2-1でタイムアップを迎え、今世界で最も勢いに乗っているといっても過言ではないホームチームが勝利。サリナ・ヴィーフマン監督体制下で無敗記録を「23」に伸ばした。

一方、アメリカも先発したロッドマンは弱冠20歳。83分にFWミーガン・ラピノーに代わって投入されたFWアリッサ・トンプソンは17歳334日での代表デビューとなった。

これはアメリカ女子代表として史上2番目の若さであり、世代交代や新戦力の台頭の面では、敗れたものの大きな収穫を得た。(最年少はマロリー・ピューで、2016年1月に当時17歳269日)。

また、前述のユーロ決勝では男女通じても史上最多となる8万7192人が集まったウェンブリー。この試合でも7万6893人が会場に足を運ぶなど、欧州での女子サッカー熱の高まりを感じさせる数字となった。

シティがイングランド女子代表FWローレン・ヘンプと3年間の契約延長、公式戦157試合65ゴールの活躍

女子バロンドール2024候補30名が発表、昨年に続き長谷川唯が選出

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

「夢を生きてきた…」、“ガラスの天才”ウィルシャーが30歳で現役引退…
