世代交代が憂慮されるアメリカ女子代表だが、若手が台頭している。

史上最多となる4度の女子ワールドカップ(W杯)優勝に、4度のオリンピック金メダル獲得。女子サッカー界を牽引してきたアメリカは、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子W杯に大会3連覇を目論んで臨んだが、過去ワーストとなるベスト16敗退に終わった。原因の一端には世代交代の失敗が挙げられているが、先のW杯では全4試合に先発した最終ラインのエミリー・フォックスが25歳、ナオミ・ギルマが23歳、アタッカー陣でも23歳のソフィア・スミスが全試合に先発し、21歳のトリニティ・ロッドマンもスタメン3試合を含む全試合出場と、戦力は揃う。
新旧の融合を急いたわけではないかもしれないが、結果的に前ヴラトコ・アンドノフスキ監督は、"最強のアメリカ"を植え付けることはできなかった。

すでにパリ・オリンピック出場を決めているアメリカは、トワイラ・キルゴア暫定監督のもとで再スタート。26日にユタ州サンディ、29日にカリフォルニア州サンディエゴで行われたコロンビアとの国際親善試合2連戦では、さらなる若手が台頭した。
29日の第2戦では、チェルシーでプレーする22歳のFWミア・フィシェルが代表2キャップ目で初ゴールとなるヘディングを決め、前述のフォックスがクロスでリンジー・ホランの追加点をアシスト。

さらにはW杯メンバーにも選出されていた18歳アリッサ・トンプソンのお膳立てから、こちらも代表2試合目となるFWジェイディン・ショーが18歳343日でのゴールをマークし、3-0で勝利している。

パリ・オリンピックでは2012年のロンドン以来となる3大会ぶり5度目の優勝を目論むアメリカ。女王復活を果たされるだろうか。

「The Best 2024」のノミネート選手が発表!日本からは池田太監督&GK山下杏也加がノミネート、男子最優秀選手候補にはレアルから6名

なでしこの準々決勝の相手は東京五輪と同じスウェーデン! W杯3連覇目指したアメリカをPK戦で撃破、スウェーデンGKムソビッチが無双【2023女子W杯】

6日、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)ラウンド16のスウェーデン女子代表vsアメリカ女子代表がメルボルン・レクタンギュラー・スタジアム(メルボルン)で行われ、120分間を終えて0-0のゴールレス。PK戦の末に、スウェーデンが勝利を収めた。 FIFAランキング3位のスウェーデン(グループG・1位)と同1位アメリカ(グループE・2位)という優勝候補同士の対決がラウンド16で実現。実績で勝るのはW杯2連覇中のアメリカだが、両者が最後に激突した東京オリンピックのグループステージではスウェーデンが3-0と完勝を収めている。 アメリカがグループE最終節でW杯初出場の格下・ポルトガル女子代表とゴールレスドローに終わり、まさかの2位通過となったため、両チームにとってこの段階で顔を合わせることとなったのは想定外だったことは想像に難くない。 この一戦の勝者は準々決勝でなでしこジャパン(日本女子代表)と対戦することが決定しているなか、最初のシュートはアメリカ。6分、ペナルティアーク付近でルーズボールを拾ったMFアンディ・サリバンがワントラップから右足ミドルを放つも、わずかにゴール左へ外れる。 スウェーデンは今大会2戦目のイタリア女子代表戦でCKから3ゴールを奪うなどセットプレーが得点源。そのCKでは身長174cmのFWスティーナ・ブラックステニウス、178cmのMFフリドリーナ・ロルフォとDFアマンダ・イレステットなどをアメリカGKの周囲に配置。22分の左CKではインスイングのクロスが直接ゴール方向へ飛び、あわやの場面を作り出す。 27分には、アメリカがビッグチャンス。MFトリニティ・ロッドマンが鋭い突破でボックス右まで侵入し、DFとの距離を十分にとった状態で右足を一閃するも、スウェーデンGKゼチラ・ムソビッチにセーブされる。34分にはMFリンジー・ホランが右CKに打点の高いヘディングで合わせるも、惜しくもクロスバーを直撃。アメリカが少しずつゴールに近づいていく。 スウェーデンは30分過ぎからアメリカにペースを握られ、守備に追われる展開に。女子サッカー界のアイコンの1人でもある2列目中央のMFコソヴァレ・アスラニが各所に顔を出してボールを要求するが、なかなか受けられず。それでもなんとか前半を0-0で凌ぎ切った。 アメリカのペースは後半も続き、53分に決定機。右サイドからグラウンダーのクロスが上がると、ゴール正面で待ち構えたホランがフリーで右足ダイレクトボレーを放つも、GKムソビッチに間一髪でセーブされる。ホランは57分にもボックス右からフリーで右足ボレーを放つが、しっかりミートしながらも枠へ飛ばせず。 アメリカは先制点が取れそうで取れない時間が続くと、試合も終盤に差し掛かった84分に34歳の絶対的エースであるアレックス・モーガンがボックス右でGKとの一対一を迎えるが、シュートを枠へ飛ばせず。直後に副審の旗が上がる。 モーガンは89分にも決定機を迎え、右サイドからのクロスにゴール正面でドンピシャヘッドを放つが、またしてもスウェーデンのGKムソビッチにスーパーセーブで阻まれる。結局、90分間で両者はスコアを動かせず、ベスト8進出をかけた一戦は延長戦へ突入することとなった。 アメリカの攻勢は延長戦に入っても続き、延長前半9分にモーガンに代わって今大会限りでの現役引退を表明している38歳のMFミーガン・ラピノーがピッチへ。PK戦を迎えるまでに勝負を決めたい中、延長前半11分にアメリカは素早いカウンターからリン・ウィリアムズがフリーでシュートを放つも、スウェーデンはGKムソビッチがセーブ。アメリカはどうしてもムソビッチの壁を越えられない。 結局、延長でもスコアは動かず、決着はPK戦に委ねられる。PK戦で先攻をとったのはアメリカ。両チームとも2人目までのキッカーが全員成功すると、アメリカの3人目が成功したのに対し、後攻スウェーデンは失敗。さらに4人目は両チームとも失敗する。 アメリカは5人目のソフィア・スミスが成功すれば勝利だったが、これも失敗。後攻のスウェーデンは、5人目のハンナ・ベニソンが決めてサドンデスにもつれ込んだ。 6人目は両チームとも成功。7人目は先攻アメリカのケリー・オハラがゴール右へ外して失敗。スウェーデンのリナ・フルティグのシュートは、アメリカのGKアリッサ・ネイハーにゴールライン上で阻まれたかと思われたが、ゴールラインテクノロジーの結果、ゴールラインの内側に入っていたとしてスウェーデンの勝利となった。 この結果、なでしこが準々決勝で対戦するのはスウェーデンに決定。東京オリンピックの準々決勝と同じカードに。一方、W杯3連覇を目指したアメリカは史上最低のベスト16での幕引きとなった。 スウェーデン女子代表 0-0(PK5-4) アメリカ女子代表 2023.08.06 21:05 Sun

男女とも日本は準々で敗退もなでしこジャパンには同情の余地あり/六川亨の日本サッカーの歩み

パリ五輪サッカーのU-23日本となでしこジャパンは、そろって準々決勝で敗退して悲願のメダルには届かなかった。 なでしこジャパンは過去4度優勝のアメリカと延長戦にもつれ込む善戦を演じたものの、延長前半17分に決勝点を奪われて0-1で敗れた。大岩ジャパンも92年バルセロナ五輪以来2度目の優勝を狙うスペインに0-3と完敗した。 しかし、アメリカは過去1勝しかしていない日本の“天敵”だったが、これだけ接戦を演じたのは11年のドイツW杯や12年のロンドン五輪の決勝以来という印象が強い。その理由はアメリカがロングキックによるスピードとフィジカルを生かした攻撃ではなく、DF陣からパスをつないでビルドアップしようとしたからだ。 確かにアメリカはパスをつないだ。しかしスペインのような“守備を剥がす”パスワークではなく、単につないでいるだけ。このためなでしこジャパンはリトリートしてブロックを作り、簡単にゴール前への侵入を許さなかった。前線からプレスに行っては体力を消耗する。ここらあたり、年齢制限のないチームの経験値の高さと言えるだろう。 ただ、最後はフィジカル勝負に負けた。元NBAのデニス・ロッドマンのDNAを引き継ぐFWトリニティ・ロッドマンが右サイドからドリブル突破を仕掛けて北川ひかるをかわし、CB南萌華が寄せる前に左足強シュートをゴール左上に突き刺した。 北川は右膝を負傷していたらしいが、ロッドマンは一度ドリブルを止めてから抜群の瞬発力で北川を一瞬で抜き去った。日本選手が最も苦手とするプレーである。 なでしこジャパンは善戦した。しかし勝つチャンスがあったかというと、決定機はゼロ。相手GKを脅かしたシュートも皆無で、勝機はPK戦しかなかったのではないだろうか。 北川だけでなく、右SB清水梨紗も初戦の負傷で離脱。ブラジル戦でロングシュートを決めたMF谷川萌々子は体調不良でベンチ外。そしてMF藤野あおばも右足親指を痛めていて、アメリカ戦は痛み止めの注射を打っての強行出場だったようなので、同情すべき材料には事欠かない。 幸い、なでしこジャパンは20歳の藤野や19歳の谷川ら“ヤングなでしこ”が育ってきていて経験も積んだ。世代交代は順調に進んでいると見ていいだろう(気になるのは清水の後継者)。このため27年のブラジルW杯や28年のロス五輪にも期待が持てる。その舞台でアメリカやヨーロッパの強豪と互角に渡り合うためにも、そろそろ技術委員会はなでしこジャパンにも両親のいずれかが海外にルーツを持つ選手の発掘に真剣に取り組むべきではないだろうか。フィジカルの差は、もう技術だけでは埋められないと思うからだ。 一方、スペインに0-3と敗れた大岩ジャパンだったが、なでしこジャパンよりは勝つ可能性があったのではないだろうか。オフサイドで取り消された細谷真大のゴールに加え、細谷はポスト直撃のヘディングシュートとGKと1対1の決定機を演出した。CB高井幸大もクロスバー直撃のへシュートを放っている。 やはりオフサイドで取り消されたゴールが後々響いたようだが、元々オフサイドは「待ち伏せるのはアンフェア」という発想で生まれたルールである。細谷の身体が前向きで、CBパウ・クバルシより前に出ていたのならオフサイドを取られても仕方がないだろう。しかし後ろ向きで踵がほんの少し出ていただけでオフサイドというのは、ルールの適用に厳密かもしれないが、「重箱の隅をつつく」ようなジャッジと言わざるを得ない。 「VARで見ているのだから、こんな些細なことでも見逃さないのは凄いでしょ」と自己アピールしたいだけと感じたのは私だけだろうか。そうそう、ベテラン記者の大住さんが、細谷が白いスパイクではなく色付きのスパイクだったら見分けがつかなかったかもしれないとユニークな意見を述べていた。今後はグリーンを基調にした迷彩カラーのスパイクが登場するかもしれない。 2024.08.06 23:15 Tue

豪女子代表主将が米女子代表MFと交際公表! 東京五輪の3位決定戦後には親密な姿

吐く息は真っ白、-19℃の過酷環境でW杯予選が開催! 選手たちも寒すぎて防寒対策
