U-24ドイツ代表が新たな災難に見舞われていた。
東京オリンピックに出場するU-24ドイツ代表。選手の招集をめぐっては、多くのクラブに派遣を拒否されるなど非常に苦しい事態となっていた。
ステファン・クンツ監督は、100人以上の選手に声を掛けたものの、最終的に招集できたのは18名。バックアップメンバーすら呼べず、最少人数での東京オリンピック参戦となった。
すでに来日し、和歌山でトレーニングキャンプを積んでいるドイツ。U-24ホンジュラス代表との練習試合では、DFジョーダン・トルナリガに対して人種差別的な侮辱が行われたとして、突如試合を中止にする事件も起きていた。
そのドイツだが、再び事件が。アウグスブルクのFWマルコ・リヒターがなんとパスポートを紛失したのだ。
初戦のU-24ブラジル代表戦が行われる横浜へと移動したドイツ一行だったが、リヒターのパスポートは見つからず。同じU-24ドイツ代表に招集されているマックス・クルーゼのインスタグラムでは「どこかで見つけられることを願っている」とリヒターは語った。
また、クルーゼは「僕たちはみんな、スーツケースを調べ、ポケットも調べた」とチーム全体を巻き込んでの大騒動だったことを報告。また空港では「今空港で待っているけど、きっとマルコなしで飛ぶことになるだろう」と同僚をからかい、「パスポートが見つかるのを願っているけど、そうでなければ僕たちは17人になってしまうね」と冗談を飛ばし、リヒターをいじり続けた。
なお、ドイツ『キッカー』によれば、チームマネージャーであるドミニク・ホルシュ氏が日本を出国するまでに何とか手続きをすることをリヒターに約束したようだ。

批判も受けたドイツ代表ユニフォームに問題…ナチスの「SS」に類似との指摘を受け「4」のフォントを変更、アディダスは購入中止に

「目が死んでる」意地の勝利もW杯敗退のドイツ、ハヴァーツがコスタリカ戦のMOMに選ばれるも虚無の表情「そりゃこうなる」

これぞ技術の進歩、AI分析によるW杯優勝国は? 日本の目標ベスト8の確率は12.47%、GS突破は33.91%に
