仏代表監督がユナイテッドでのポグバを憂いる「ハッピーでいられない状況」

フランス代表のディディエ・デシャン監督がマンチェスター・ユナイテッドの同代表MFポール・ポグバを憂いた。

今季のここまで公式戦11試合に出場しているポグバだが、先発数は半分以下の5回。度重なる故障に苦しみ、1年を通じて戦い抜けなかった昨季からの巻き返しが求められる今季だが、8月末に新型コロナウイルスに感染した影響もあり、トップフォームを取り戻せず、ブラジル代表MFフレッジやスコットランド代表MFスコット・マクトミネイに先発の座を明け渡す試合も少なくない。

そんなクラブレベルの状況にもかかわらず、ポグバを引き続き今月の代表活動でも招集したデシャン監督。イギリス『ガーディアン』によると、ポグバのクラブで置かれる状況について、苦しい時期にあると認めた一方で、自身との良好な関係性を主張した。

「クラブでの彼はハッピーでいられない状況にある。プレー時間でも、位置付けにおいてもね。最高の時期にない。相次ぐケガや新型コロナウイルス感染で、かなりの打撃を受けたんだ。今の彼は自分のリズムを見つける探す必要がある」

「私といたら、そんな心配はない。選手は所属先で不安な思いをしているとき、フランス代表でのプレーが嬉しいものだ。私は彼のことをよく知り、彼も自分の気持ちを私に打ち明けてくれる。それがポジティブな方向に向かわせてくれるはずだ」

リヨンMFアワールがフランスからアルジェリアへの代表変更を決断!
