ミランのフランス代表FWオリヴィエ・ジルー(37)が近々の代表引退を表明した。

ミランでの3シーズンを経て、この夏にメジャーリーグサッカー(MLS)のロサンゼルスFCに舞台を移すジルー。その前に代表としてユーロ2024に臨むが、この大会をもってレ・ブルーのユニフォームとも別れを告げるようだ。

今年9月で38歳になるが、ディディエ・デシャン監督のもとで主力としてユーロを迎えようとするなか、フランス代表通算131キャップを誇り、57ゴールの歴代最多得点者はフランス『レキップ』のインタビューで明らかにした。

「正直なところ、これがレ・ブルーで最後の大会になると言わざるをえない。もちろん、すごく寂しくなるだろうけど、フランス代表としてはユーロをもって終わりだと思う。僕らは若い選手に道を譲る必要がある」

この夏にクラブレベルで第一線から退くだけでなく、2018年のロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)制覇も経験した代表キャリアにもひと区切りをつけるジルーは有終の美となるだろうか。

アル・イテハドの元フランス代表FWカリム・ベンゼマが、イスラエル・ハマス紛争を巡る政治問題に巻き込まれている。ベンゼマは、アル・イテハド加入時に「イスラム教徒でイスラムの国でプレーしたかった」と語るなどムスリムとして知られる。そして、15日にはイスラエル軍によるガザ地区への空爆を受け、自身のX(ツイッター)に「女性も子供も容赦しない不当な爆撃の犠牲者であるガザ住民のために祈りを捧げます」と、ガザの犠牲者を追悼するコメントを残していた。フランスではイスラム教徒が人口の1割を占めているが、イスラエル・ハマス紛争勃発後はイスラエルに対する支持とハマスによる攻撃を非難する声明を発表。国家としてはイスラエル側に立っている。そういった事情もあり、長らくフランス代表の中心選手として活躍したベンゼマの前述の反応に対しては、一般人に加えて多くのフランスの政治家からネガティブな反応が届いている。その中で2014年から欧州議会議員を務めるナディーン・モラノ氏は、「ハマスのプロパガンダの代理人」という過激な発言で同選手を糾弾。さらに、フランスの内務大臣であるジェラール・ダルマナン氏は、ベンゼマに関して「誰もが知っているように、ムスリム同胞団と悪名高い関係にある」との主張を行っていた。なお、1928年にエジプトで設立されたムスリム同胞団は中東におけるスンナ派のイスラム主義組織。バーレーン、エジプト、ロシア、シリア、サウジアラビア、アラブ首長国連邦、オーストリア、日本など各政府からテロ組織としての認定を受けている。この内務大臣の主張を受け、フランス上院議員ヴァレリー・ボワイエ氏は、ダルマナン氏の主張が証明された場合に、ベンゼマのフランス国籍とバロンドールの剥奪を求めている。また、ダルマナン氏の側近はフランス『RMC Sport』で「我々はここ数年、ベンゼマの立場が、同胞団のイデオロギーの特徴である厳格で厳格なイスラム教へとゆっくりと傾いていることに注目してきた。同胞団イデオロギーは、イスラム教の規範をさまざまな社会空間、特にスポーツ界に広めることからなる」と、自身の側の主張の正当性を説いている。一方、ベンゼマの弁護士は『Le Parisien』で、ダルマナン氏の主張を完全否定。さらに、選手の名誉を毀損したとして法的措置を検討していることを認めた。「我々は、例えば我々にとって大切な情報操作に関する法律を適用して、この大臣に対して訴訟を起こすことを検討している」「なぜなら、悪名高いと彼が言うムスリム同胞団とのこの存在しないつながりは、明らかに軽蔑的であると表現されているからだ」 2023.10.19 06:00 Thu

ベンゼマがメッシのFIFA最優秀選手賞受賞に不満? SNSに物議を醸す投稿「ウソつき」

レアル・マドリーのフランス代表FWカリム・ベンゼマの行動が物議を醸している。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えた。ベンゼマはマドリーのエースとして活躍を見せ、2021-22シーズンはチームのラ・リーガ、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)の優勝に貢献。2022年のバロンドールを見事に受賞し、充実のシーズンを送っていた。一方で、フランス代表としてはUEFAネーションズ・リーグで優勝。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)での活躍が見込まれた中、ケガのために出場できず。チームは準優勝という結果を残していたが、ベンゼマは関わることができずにいた。そんな中、2月27日に2022年の『ザ・ベスト・FIFAフットボールアウォーズ(The Best)』が行われ、男子の最優秀選手にパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシが選出。ベンゼマはファイナリストに残っていたが、受賞は叶わなかった。バロンドールを受賞しながら、FIFAの最優秀選手賞を逃し、個人タイトルを獲得できなかったベンゼマは、この結果にかなり不満を抱いていたようで、インスタグラムのストーリーズで「ウソつき、はい、あなたはウソつきだ」と行っている映像を投稿。そのキャプションには「おやすみなさい」というコメントが投稿されていた。メッシが受賞した直後に投稿されたことで、物議を醸すことに。また、ファンアカウントが投稿した自身の成績を共有。63ゴール21アシストを1年間で記録し、クラブと代表で複数タイトルを獲得、CL、ラ・リーガでは得点王になったというものを誇っているようにも見える。メッシにはW杯王者という大きなタイトルがあるが、年間を通した活躍を見ればベンゼマの方が数字を残しているとも言えるが、あくまでも各国の代表チームの監督とキャプテン、そして代表するメディアの投票で決まったもの。「ウソつき」というのは何に対してなのかは不明。とにかく、納得が行っていないようだ。 2023.03.02 10:40 Thu
