17日、2022-23シーズンのヨーロッパリーグ(EL)の準々決勝以降の組み合わせ抽選会が行われた。

16日に今シーズンのベスト8チームが決定。優勝候補の一角であった日本代表DF冨安健洋が所属するアーセナルやMF久保建英のレアル・ソシエダ、MF堂安律のフライブルクなどが敗退。一方で、マンチェスター・ユナイテッド、ユベントス、ローマ、セビージャが勝ち上がり、日本人でもMF守田英正のスポルティングCP、DF町田浩樹のロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズが勝ち残っている。

守田が所属するスポルティングはユベントスと、町田のサン=ジロワーズはレバークーゼンと対戦。また、2017年に優勝したユナイテッドは、最多6度の優勝を誇るセビージャと対戦することが決定。残りのカードはフェイエノールトvsローマに決まった。
また、準決勝ではユナイテッド/セビージャvsユベントス/スポルティング、フェイエノールト/ローマvsレバークーゼン/サン=ジロワーズのカードに決定した。

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定
