トッテナムは6日、新指揮官にセルティックのアンジェ・ポステコグルー監督(57)を招へいしたことを発表した。

ポステコグルー監督は4年契約を結び、7月1日からトッテナムの指揮を執る。

オーストラリア代表や横浜F・マリノスを指揮したポステコグルー監督は、2021年8月にセルティックの監督に就任。すると、Jリーグで活躍していたFW古橋亨梧をヴィッセル神戸から獲得するなどしリーグを牽引。冬には指導したFW前田大然を横浜F・マリノス、MF旗手怜央を川崎フロンターレ、MF井手口陽介をガンバ大阪から獲得。スコティッシュ・プレミアシップとスコティッシュ・リーグカップを制し2冠を達成した。
今シーズンも古橋を筆頭に日本人選手が活躍。冬にはDF岩田智輝(横浜F・マリノス)、DF小林友希(ヴィッセル神戸)を獲得するなどし、リーグ連覇を達成。リーグカップも制すると、スコティッシュFAカップも制し、国内3冠の偉業を達成し、獲得できる国内タイトル6つのうち、5つを手にしていた。

ダニエル・レヴィ会長はポステコグルー監督の招へいにコメントしている。
「アジェはポジティブなメンタリティとスピーディーで攻撃的なプレースタイルをもたらしてくれる。彼は選手育成において豊富な実績を持ち、アカデミーからのつながりの重要性、つまり当クラブにとって重要なものすべてを理解している」

古橋亨梧に対する人種差別にレンジャーズが全試合無期限入場禁止を発表、サポーターズクラブも出禁に

サラサラヘアからゆるめパーマに!セルティック古橋亨梧の変貌に英メディアまで反応!「見違える」

「トッテナム」は禁止、「スパーズ」で…クラブが改めて通達、放送局からも「トッテナム」表記が消える

現在はアンジェ・ポステコグルー監督が指揮し、韓国代表FWソン・フンミンらが所属。かつては戸田和幸氏も在籍したことがあるトッテナム・ホットスパーだが、クラブは「トッテナム」と呼ばれることを望んでいない。 チーム名は「トッテナム・ホットスパー」。愛称は「スパーズ」として知られているが、「トッテナム」と称されることも多い。 「トッテナム」と言えば、「トッテナム・ホットスパー」と誰もが考える状況。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』もプレミアリーグの順位表などを伝える時には「Tottenham(トッテナム)」とこれまで表記してきた。しかし、ここにきて「Spurs(スパーズ)」の表記に変更されていた。 『The Athletic』によると、2月10日、クラブからプレミアリーグの放送局に通達があったとのこと。「トッテナム・ホットスパーの名称変更」というメールが届いたという。 「トッテナム・ホットスパーはクラブ名に関して説明を行った。クラブは主にトッテナム・ホットスパーとして知られるよう要請し、短縮形としてスパーズが好まれている。クラブはトッテナムと呼ばれないよう要請する」 この通達は世界中のプレミアリーグの放送局に対して送られたとのこと。プレミアリーグの公式サイトでも、「Tottenham(トッテナム)」の表記はなく、「Tottenham Hotspur(トッテナム・ホットスパー)」か「Spurs(スパーズ)」のみになったという。 そもそも、クラブは2011年以来、「トッテナム」と呼ばれることは好ましくないというスタンス。「トッテナム」とは地域の名前であり、クラブ名ではないということが理由だ。 2024年11月にリマスターされたブランドアイデンティティを発表。「ユナイテッド、シティ、ローバーズが溢れるこの世界で、ホットスパーはただ1つ、トッテナム・ホットスパーだけです。チームやブランドについて言及する際は、『トッテナム・ホットスパー』、『トッテナム・ホットスパー・フットボール・クラブ』、または『THFC』を使用してください。決して我々のクラブを『トッテナム』、『トッテナム・ホットスパーFC』、または『TH』と呼ばないでください」とのことだ。 「スパーズ」でも確かに多くの人にとっては印象付けられる一方で、世界的に見ればNBAの「サンアントニオ・スパーズ」もあり、混同される可能性もゼロではない。むしろ「トッテナム」の方が唯一無二。いずれにしても、クラブの方針としては「トッテナム」とは呼ばれなくないようなので、ファン・サポーターの方は改めて認識すると良いかもしれない。 2025.02.22 23:55 Sat

「やりづらい…」ソン・フンミンがマスクの支障を明かす「本当にストレス」

トッテナムの韓国代表FWソン・フンミンが、マスクでボールが見えづらくなっていることを明かした。 昨年11月のマルセイユ戦で負った顔面のケガから、フェイスガードを着けて試合に臨んでいるソン・フンミン。先のカタール・ワールドカップはこのケガのため出場が危ぶまれたが、マスクを着ければ試合に出られるまでに回復。韓国の“バットマン”として、ベスト16入りに貢献した。 大会後に再開されたリーグ戦でもマスク姿がお馴染みとなったが、やはり平時よりもやりにくさがある様子。イギリス『The Standard』の取材で率直な感想や、身近な人たちとのやりとりを明かした。 「もちろん、マスク無しでプレーする時とは勝手が違うよ。視界はまだ大丈夫なんだけど、ボールが来たときにマスクがあると見えにくくなって、時々イライラしちゃうんだ。めちゃくちゃ気になるわけではないんだけど、ベストとは言えないね」 「アストン・ビラ戦ではパスを受けた時、ボールが見えなくて突然取られてしまうことがあって本当にストレスだった。ただただ怒りを覚えたよ」 「僕一人の判断なら当然マスクなしでプレーするんだけど、両親も家族も韓国で見ている友人も皆心配しててね。また誰かにぶつかってケガするリスクは当然あるからね」 「両親はマスクはするべきとか言ってなかったんだけど、ビラ戦の後に食事をしていたら『あれ? マスクはどうしたんだ?』って言われたんだ」 「心配なのは当然のことだよね。医者はビラ戦の後に僕に任せると言ってくれたけど、まだ着けておくべきだと思うんだ。手術からまだ7週間しか経っていないからリスクが高いんだ」 2023.01.07 21:55 Sat
