25日、2022-23 WEリーグカップ・グループステージ(GS)第6節の2試合が各地で開催された。グループA、勝てば決勝行きが決まる三菱重工浦和レッズレディースは、ちふれASエルフェン埼玉とのアウェイゲームに臨んだ。

浦和は開始早々の7分、右裏のスペースへ抜け出した菅澤優衣香の折り返しに島田芽衣がすべり込みながら押し込んで試合を動かすと、27分には加入後初出場となった19歳・石川璃音が右CKに頭で合わせてリードを広げた。
後半にはゴールが生まれなかったものの、守備陣も無失点で終えて2-0で勝利。見事に決勝戦のチケットを手にしている。

グループBでは、INAC神戸レオネッサがJ-GREEN堺S1メインフィールドでサンフレッチェ広島レジーナと相まみえた。
決勝進出のためには5点差以上での勝利が必要なINACだったが30分、最終ラインでのミスから上野真実にゴールを献上してしまう。ただ、キックオフ直後のプレーから田中美南が近賀に倒されてPKを獲得すると、自らGKの逆を突いてネットを揺らし、すぐさま同点とした。

同点で折り返しての後半開始早々には田中、髙瀬愛実とチャンスと立て続けにチャンスを迎えるも、GK福元美穂の好セーブに遭い、歯がゆさばかりが募る。

80分に水野蕗奈が左サイドから上げたクロスに成宮唯が頭で合わせ、ようやく逆転まで漕ぎつけたものの、以降は得点を奪えず。試合には2-1で勝利したが、決勝進出とはならなかった。

この結果により、グループBの首位は日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザに確定。決勝戦のカードは三菱重工浦和レッズレディースvs日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザに決定した。

決勝戦は10月1日に味の素フィールド西が丘で行われる。
