日本代表のFW古橋亨梧(スタッド・レンヌ)が、新天地での思いを語った。

17日、日本代表は2026年北中米W杯アジア最終予選に向けて活動を開始した。

古橋は初日のトレーニングから合流。1月の移籍市場でセルティックからスタッド・レンヌへと移籍し、5大リーグのリーグ・アンへと挑戦した。
しかし、セルティックでの立ち位置とは大きく変わることに。自身の獲得を望んだホルヘ・サンパオリ監督は加入前に解任され、ハビブ・ベイェ監督が指揮を執ることに。肩を再び痛めたこともあり、ここまで4試合の出場に終わっている。

現状について古橋は「なかなか難しい時間を過ごしていますけど、少しずつ出場時間も増えています。日々良い練習をして、たくさん刺激を持ってやれていて、良い時間を過ごしています」と、トレーニングでも良い日々を過ごしているとした。「悔しい気持ちというのはどこにいても活かせるので、明日の練習でもピッチの上で悔しさを出して、自分の良さを出して良い形で持っていきたいです」とコメントした。
移籍後では試合での出番は少なく、ゴールもない。悔しい思いは当然持っている。

「やってきたことは間違っていないと思っています。どうピッチ上で表現するか、どう結果に繋げるかは、今までもこれからも考えて続けなければいけないです」

「答えは見つからないかもしれないですけど、それが成長し続ける種にもなると思います。貪欲に年齢に関係なく成長できるように上を目指して頑張りたいです」

苦しい状況の中でも日本代表には招集された古橋。日本で活躍し、見てもらうことも重要になる。「守るだけでなく、今は代表としてもゴールも取れています。僕も出たら点を取りたい。良い準備をしたいと思います」と意気込み。悔しい思いを日の丸を背負ってぶつけられるか。スコアラーらしさをピッチで見せてもらいたい。

古橋亨梧に対する人種差別にレンジャーズが全試合無期限入場禁止を発表、サポーターズクラブも出禁に

サラサラヘアからゆるめパーマに!セルティック古橋亨梧の変貌に英メディアまで反応!「見違える」

日本戦まで1カ月弱…中国代表が新たな“帰化選手”用意も9月招集は50-50か 既存の帰化組にパリ五輪世代を本格融合へ

日本代表スタメン発表! 1トップは上田綺世、久保建英や堂安律ら順当にスタメンに【2026W杯アジア最終予選】

なぜ18歳・佐藤龍之介はファジアーノ岡山でブレイクできたのか? E-1選手権で“内田篤人超え”が期待される若き才能の適応力とブレないメンタリティ

突出した適応力だ。今シーズンにFC東京からファジアーノ岡山に育成型期限付き移籍で加入した佐藤龍之介は、新たな環境に素早く順応し、自身の力を遺憾なく発揮している。 久保建英と同じ16歳でFC東京とプロ契約を結んだMFは、高卒1年目となるシーズンに武者修行を決断。約18年を過ごした東京を飛び出し、約660km離れた岡山に移り住んだ。 未到の地で単身生活をしながら、プロサッカー選手として結果を出すことを目指す。私生活をはじめ不慣れなことも多く、決して簡単ではない。さらに、主に起用されるのは、サッカーキャリアで「初めて」のウイングバックである。まさに、初めて尽くしだ。しかし、ピッチ上では圧倒的なパフォーマンスを発揮している。 第23節終了時点では、17試合に出場してチーム最多の4ゴールを記録。第19節・湘南ベルマーレ戦では、先制点を奪うだけでなく、両チームトップの走行距離12.1kmとスプリント18回を叩き出した。右WBで攻守にハードワークしながら、74分からはシャドーに移り、タイムアップまでプレー。試合後に木山隆之監督は「1番ゴールを取る可能性がある人をピッチに残すのは、勝つのであれば当然かなと思います」とフル出場の意図を明かしており、その信頼は絶大だ。 地元の西東京市と岡山の雰囲気が「似ていた」ことも佐藤の背中を押したが、適応を可能にしている大きな要素は、素直さと向上心のように思う。 開幕前のキャンプ時にWBで起用された時は、「(WBは)オプションになればいいかな。メインはシャドーになると思う」と受け止めていた。だが、監督からのオーダーに応えながら、パスやドリブルで密集地を打開したりラストパスでチャンスを作ったりといった自分の良さを発揮することを両立させ、“WB・佐藤龍之介”は、完全に板についた。その結果、「18歳の今は自分のポジションを『ここだ』と決める段階でもないと思う。『トップ下やシャドーをやれていない』というネガティブな考えは、本当にゼロなんです。『WBで使ってみたい』と思わせるような特徴を自分は少なからず持っていると思うので、実際に使ってくれている今はその証明にもなっています」と、岡山で発見した自身の新たな可能性と向き合い、意識を変化させている。 第21節・横浜Fマリノス戦では初めて左WBで先発した。負傷によるイレギュラーな起用だったが、「練習で『左、やれるか?』と言われて、『うん、行けます』と言ってやりました」と、逆サイドでプレーすることによって発生する身体の向きやボールの置き所の変化も物ともせず。第22節・鹿島アントラーズ戦では鋭いカットインで左サイドを切り裂き、逆転ゴールを呼び込んだ。 “置かれた場所で咲きなさい”を体現している18歳の姿を、木山監督は「輝いている」と表現し、「『自分は絶対に上に行くんだ』って疑わないメンタリティを持っている。『とにかく上に行きたい』という意欲が、輝いている。ある意味、与えられた才能というか。誰かに教えられるものではないと思う。自分を疑っていないところが素晴らしい」と称賛する。 環境やチーム戦術、監督からのリクエストは、自分がコントロールできない部分だ。時には自分のイメージと違うこともある。それでも、全てのことを素直に受け止め、受け入れ、自分の成長を促す肥料に変えていく。 「将来的には世界のトップリーグでプレーしたり、日本代表としてワールドカップに出て活躍したりすることが目標です」。そう宣言する佐藤は、7月3日に発表される東アジアE-1選手権のメンバーに選出されれば、2008年大会での内田篤人の20歳という同大会の日本代表における最年少記録を更新することになる。 E-1選手権は、過去に柿谷曜一朗や森重真人、相馬勇紀や町野修斗らが1年後のW杯のメンバー入りを勝ち取っており、言わばサバイバルの場だ。チームとして戦いながらも、個人として強みを発揮するなどのアピールが是が非でも必要になる。もしかしたらチームメイトは仲間よりもライバルという側面の方が強いかもしれない。しかし、きっと佐藤なら特有のチーム状況下でも、自分の力を最大限に発揮できるのではないか。そう期待したくなる適応力を、岡山で十二分に見せている。 取材・文 難波拓未 2025.07.02 18:00 Wed
